Merlin was so sweet.
He kept taking care of her when he didn't have to - with a kindness Ada couldn't even begin to understand, reminding her that there were indeed good people out there, even if she hadn't been exactly surrounded by them before. She had been so lost, terrified and furious, and he hadn't just comforted her, but had dared to show her magic. The real deal, not what her father accused her to have, trusting her not to endanger him for no reason whatsoever, so she'd see just how wrong her father had been. Why would anyone even share a secret with someone who came from such darkness? But he had, and it made her feel fuzzy inside.
And so when he brought her food and a change of clothes again, Ada found herself smiling, such a rare occurrence, and as he sat close to her to talk she couldn't resist, leaning to to meet his lips with hers. Both a thank you and a selfish move, because she very much liked him and wanted to kiss him.
