I remember reading a thousand splendid suns by Khaled hosseini a couple of years ago on a 'road-trip' w my family. We were going to t*rkey by car so we were passing through loads of mountains, through the Balkans and other small villages in Europe.

I remember forcing myself not to cry in front of my mum, brother and dad because obviously in a kurdish family you can't show any emotion whatsoever. What a heartbreaking story. It was my official introduction to violence against women/femicide and I've been followed by the writing ever since.

It was a borrowed book from my school's library so I had to give it back when I came back home. But I want to buy it again, maybe as a second hand or something but I just want to know that I have it in my possession. For a book to impact me so much that I feel the need to have it with me is sick. (In a good sense)
