My friend and I sat down this evening and worked though taking the mental image for a character in my book and bringing her to life on paper. This sketch is currently the most beautiful thing I own because it represents every bit of love and care I used to make her.
Andri has it tough in my book. She's not a main character and in the beginning she's not very good with magic despite being next in line to inherit the Paladinship (priesthood) from her grandfather. As the story grows, so does she. She goes from small village girl to powerful, confident warrior-priest. All it took was getting her out of her comfort zone and convincing her to believe in herself.
The image above is where she ends up. She represents the pure, playful spirit of the Simians and she gets to be that way because she's got nothing to fear.
