Soooooo. Gina. Hi. 😊 I have a big thing to ask. If there were ONE fic you could recommend to a newbie, which one? I have read maybe three fics in my life and that was years ago. I like good writing, good pacing, and nice rounded characters. Which would you pick for me? Only larry please.

Ah, Tessa. I feel PRESSURED! LOL! Just kidding. Ok, I have to say that I really don’t think I can narrow it down to one, but you can look at this post i did a few months back answering an anon who’d never read fic at all and wanted help narrowing down where to begin. And this one is my list of 24 fics I’d smuggle into prison. 

BUT....given what I know about you and what you’ve already read, I think these would be my suggestions because they have everything you’re looking for and they’re just all around really well done. 

Love Is A Rebellious Bird by 100percentsassy, gloria_andrews / @100percentsassy, @gloriaandrews​ (E, 135K) Everything about this fic is glorious. I’m always struck by how well the characters are fleshed out, how their behavior lines up with their backstory, how ridiculously hot the chemistry is, and how agonizing the angst is. So yes, no shocker, I cried buckets. Thank god for a happy ending.

Wild and Unruly by 100percentsassy, gloria_andrews / @100percentsassy, @gloriaandrews (E, 124K) This is just one of those fandom classics that you shouldn’t miss out on. The writing is great, the pining and the build up to them giving in is really well paced (and hot), The angst is painful and feels insurmountable, but the end is so good and so satisfying. 

Into The Blue by zarah5 (E, 117K) honestly, all of this author’s fics are excellent, but I think this is my favorite of theirs. Louis as a flirty scuba instructor? Newly single Harry who just wants a fling? Boys living on other sides of the world who only have a few weeks together? Please….give me all that shit.

Pull Me Under by zarah5 (E, 140K) One of the very first fics I read when I came into this fandom…and I’ve read it multiple times since. Zarah’s fics hold up every time. This one has it all, great pacing, ot5 friendship, banter, super sexy smut, etc etc. Plus, Louis being super jealous of Harry’s best friend.

Make Your Words A Weapon by @helloamhere (E, 36K) I love everything this author writes. This one just really hit me hard for whatever reason. Maybe it’s the way they explore Louis’ anxiety and coping mechanisms and pain and the way he pushes people away and protects himself, but also wants someone to push back just a bit and love him despite all of that. And the way Harry is the perfect foil for all of it, while also feeling like a fully developed character himself. Yeah, it’s probably all of that. 

God there are so many more!!! But you only wanted one, so I’ve already cheated enough. Hope you find something you like so I can fully drag you into reading as much fic as I do. LOL!

I'm going to do an unusual one. I'd like to show @adrasteapl some love. It's quite possible nobody here knows who they are, in fact I don't know who they are. But from day one of my blog, they've been in my notes, and often one of the four people that show up as 'your biggest fans' or something, We never spoke but I always noticed the name and did a silent salute. And now for the project for Two of Us, they came out of hiding and offered to help. <3 Salute to the 'small' ones!

For your bi anon. I am a much older bi and in the past i made the mistake of dismissing people like you, bc it felt like not the same struggle. And it isn’t the same struggle, but i was still wrong. The flag is a rainbow bc our community is diverse and stories differ. So don’t be discouraged by intolerance in the lgbtq community itself, and personally, I’m a fan of not worrying much about labels. I call myself gay often too, bc that’s what it often feels like too. Or queer. Perfect label tbh.

I tried fitting that in one ask but realised I couldn’t. Basically if Harry’s show made you feel so welcome, that’s an answer in itself. You were home in a way that you’re not in a standard (=straight environment. And you have the right to be home. It’s your place.

Louis estuvo en un bar gay anoche en Ámsterdam (traducción al español)

¡Hola! Esta es una traducción que hice del texto de thosedamnbears sobre Louis saliendo anoche a una fiesta gay. Lean hasta el final que voy a hacer una aclaración:) 

Sin más, los dejo con el post.

Vivo en Ámsterdam. He vivido aquí por más de 15 años combinados. Hay una calle que es LA calle gay de Ámsterdam, llamada la Reguliersdwarsstraat. Sólo hay clubs gay y restaurantes. (...)

Así que. Louis salió en Ámsterdam anoche y posó para sus fotos con fans.

Pareciera ser una especie de fiesta callejera, o al menos una gran sombrilla con luces afuera de un bar, y la gente parece estar observando algo, o esperando a pedir sus bebidas en el bar que armaron afuera. Cuando vi esto la primera vez en la mañana, a las 6:30 am, el lugar parecía familiar, pero eran las 6:30 am y mi cerebro no funciona correctamente a esa hora. Así que me quedé mirando la foto un poco más, en la cama, en mi teléfono, y miren:

¿Ven la bandera arcoiris a la derecha? Sí, la ven. Qué bien. Pero hay muchas banderas arcoiris en Ámsterdam, ¿y por qué Louis no estaría en un lugar con un poco de gay pride? Intentemos ver qué más hay en la foto. 

• Hombres. Sólo hombres. De hecho, no hay una sola mujer en esa calle en esta foto, tal vez exceptuando a una rubia justo en frente de la bandera. • Construcciones modernas detrás de Louis y el fan, con un estilo de los ‘80. Acabo de encontrar esos edificios, y no fue raro que me parecieran familiares. Es un lugar en el que he estado muy a menudo.

Los dejaré observar las ventanas un rato, como hice yo, pero es totalmente obvio que Louis estuvo ahí anoche. Por favor noten la ubicación en la parte superior izquierda. Por supuesto, no te piden tu identificación gay aquí, gente hetero viene también. Pero no seguido, y la mayoría del tiempo están ahí porque salen con sus amigos gay. Si vienen extranjeros, es porque son gay o porque están teniendo una de esas horribles despedidas de solteros donde van y ven gente gay como si estuviesen en el zoológico. 

Más o menos donde está Louis, es un restaurante llamado Rosa’s Cantina, y también parece ser donde Louis estaba en otra fan pic:

Por favor comparen la mesa azul detrás de ellos a esta foto aquí abajo. Esta no es un tipo de mesa común en Ámsterdam. Pueden ver también las sombrillas con luces de nuevo. Aquí es donde estaba él. Como verás en la foto abajo, es un restaurante gay.

Estoy riéndome porque encontré las fan pics en una cuenta en Twitter que decía:

Cuando en realidad la situación es más como:

“Louis lucía tan contento en Ámsterdam, ¡y resulta que es porque estaba en una fiesta gay en una calle gay! LXS LARRIES ESTÁN TAN BENDECIDXS AHORA”

Edito para agregar que también fue al Club NYX, al lado del restaurante. Googleen el club si quieren ver de qué tipo es. :)

Okay, así que, para aclarar: esto no tiene nada que ver con Larry (antes de que salten a decir que esto no prueba que Larry es real), esto tiene que ver con Louis y su sexualidad. Tiene que ver con el hecho de que desde hace AÑOS han retratado públicamente a Louis como homofóbico, en su propio twitter hay publicaciones homofóbicas, y esta es una excusa que han usado las antis durante años para justificar el que Louis no sea gay. (También sé que ir a un club gay o algo por el estilo no significa que seas gay, pero ese no es el punto del post.) El punto es que los medios y el team de 1D/Louis han tratado por años que Louis sea visto como el Heterosexual ™, o al menos como que no es gay (prohibiéndole mil cosas para decir o hacer) y Louis ha probado un millón de veces que él siente todo lo contrario. Probó con sus acciones que los artículos y tweets son mentira, son algo manufacturado para crear una imagen de él que no existe; él está orgulloso de quien es. (Además está el hecho de que llevó a su “novia” a una cita con su mejor amigo para celebrar su cumpleaños JAJAJAJAJA)

En fin, si quieren leer más sobre Louis no escondiendo su homosexualidad les dejo este post que traduje hace tiempo.

He did. He said after his first audition he rushed home to see his girlfriend at the time and got pulled over for speeding.
