I played the first episode of dispatch, and well.... I think I have a favorite already.

I'm thinking of maybe doing name changes for the human characters in The Unwinnable Game AU, just to fit the Homestuck human naming conventions better. But then I think, "ok, is this becoming a ship of Theseus? Am I ship of Theseus-ing this AU into an original thing/fanfic/idea that lives in my head that I do nothing with? How far can I push this before it's no longer recognizable? Do I WANT to push it that far??" And the answer to all of those questions is a resounding "I don't know." I might make a poll to outsource my human name issue though.
sydrian kinda has it all they’re the perfect combo of all the best tropes. friends to lovers, slow burn, forbidden love with a hint of enemies to friends to lovers and a dash of queer coding.

Barriers
I couldn't call it a sandcastle but // that was the intention when // I clawed and closed my hands around // the wet grains of sand that cemented // and fell apart quickly // losing the shape of my squeezed palms // I was scooping and patting feverishly // into the green planter that first held a grocery dahlia // that mom packed hastily // this morning. // Megan was across from me. // At a table, we'd undoubtedly be // having a conversation // or staring at one another // blankly. But now we knew our posts // the sea foam drew near, // licking the edge of property we'd claimed. // I was adhering shells and tiny sticks // onto the row of tall sand cubes // that still held // their thick corners. // Meg's legs grew pink // and I couldn't stand to think // what would happen if I had to defend an actual city from being overtaken by natural disaster
but moats are fun to watch fill in.
