I'm excited to announce that this year I am supporting The Hunger Project for my Live Below the Line 28-day challenge!! World Food Program USA is sadly not part of the charity roster this year. But that's okay, because their mission to end poverty and hunger is the same, however they aim to achieve their goals by empowering communities through women-centered strategies, making women key change agents in the development of their villages through grass-root initiatives. Where there are strong and healthy women with a voice, there are strong and healthy communities.
And for any charity skeptics, I did my research. The Hunger Project has a 94.27 score (out of 100) on Charity Navigator. 100 on Accountability and Transparency, 91.9 on Financials.
80.9% of the charity's total expenses went to the program and services they provide.
Rest assured the money I raise this year will be put in good hands, and to great use! Please follow along with me as a prepare for, and go through, this 28-day challenge to eat and drink on $1.50 a day to help bring extreme poverty to an end by the year 2030!
