Super Fast, Super Easy, Super Cute. That pretty much sums up this project. I have been doing more and more embroidery of late. Table runner for my mother-in-law, cross stitched bookmark for husband, bag for me, ornaments, tapestry, and more christmas gifts (surprises..) As a result I have little piles of thread ends all over my living room, and it was starting to drive me crazy. And so when I came across this little project I knew I had to make one.
2 contrasting fabrics, about 10in squares
Paper, for making the pattern
Thread, sewing machine, scissors, iron and so on
1. Start by making the pattern (You want an equilateral triangle with 9.5in edges.)
A. Measure 9.5in in from the edge of the paper and draw a line.
B. Fold to this line and crease the paper. Open the fold.
C. From each bottom corner measure 9.5in to the fold, mark these lines.
2. Place your two pieces of fabric right sides together. Pin the pattern on and cut it out.
3. Sew, with 1/4in seams, around the edges. Leave an opening along one side for turning. Trim the corners, and turn right side out, press.
4. Sew around the outside of the triangle, this time with 1/8in seams, to close the opening.
5. Following the pictures below, fold the triangle in half, then fold one point down and place a pin.
This is where you will sew to to close the box in. Repeat for the remaining 2 sides.
6. Sew along the 3 sides. Then fold the edges down. Sew in place with a button. And thats it!
