Today I played a very intense game of thread chicken. I was chain piecing my last 16 flying geese (out of 136!) and was watching as the top thread and the bobbin were both running low. When I say I just made it, wow, I really just made it.

I won thread chicken!
Got a little sewing done today - assembled the pockets and won a pretty much perfect game of thread chicken
There was nothing left on the spool, only that little piece next to the thread guide
The frixion pen shows up pretty badly on this fabric, hopefully it'll wash out. And if not... welp, I'm just gonna wear this at home anyway
Everything is nicely pressed so far, but my iron had a little accident and left some stains... again, hopefully it'll wash out. And I should probably descale my iron at some point
Pockets are the same fabric on the visible side, but white scraps on the other one
If I get sewing time tomorrow I might be able to get them done
You know how your bobbin always runs out halfway through a seam? Or, more maddeningly, two inches before you finish? Today a miracle has occurred. Behold!
I finished a seam, and this is what remained.
At least with thread chicken you can watch your progress, unlike with bobbin chicken...
Finished my dress AND won thread chicken!
Thread chicken is getting intense
Script from the One Ring. Metallic copper on 28 ct linen. Last pic is all that was left of the thread when I finished.
