The dodomeki huffed, turning his head away from the demon to avoid any eye contact from happening. Wincing once or twice as the cuts were being cleaned. Thankfully they were just light cuts and scrapes, but it still stung like hell to his discomfort and all he wanted to do was scratch them.

“Well let’s see how you do with these damn eyes talking over you all at once! It’s not easy I can tell you that.” Even though he’s had these eyes since the day he was born, never once did they get along. They drove him crazy! That’s all they did. Having these many eyes was more of a curse than a gift and he’d always end up in some sort of trouble because of it. Sometimes even covering them up with wraps didn’t help, other than the fact that he had to hide them from any humans being able to see. He even kept them covered despite being deep in the woods.

Choromatsu sighed, looking back to the demon with a look of discouragement. Thankfully Aku had been here to patch him up. He would have surely panicked at the small beads of blood that had formed from his freshly new cuts, even if it didn’t seem like a big deal it was to him. “ Why couldn’t I be something else? Like a human or..you! You obviously don’t have to deal with disgusting eyes covering your body. And you pull off a pretty good disguise.”

 Being a dodomeki pretty much sucked. Especially if you were the only one who barely knew what in the world you were capable of. And some pretty obnoxious eyes who talked and mocked you to no end.

"That's fair. I'd probably get overwhelm from sensory overload from all the information all those eyes can give at once. Not too mention they can 'talk' to you too..." He shook his head a little as he continued to treat the other's wounds. He didn't want to rush anything and risk hurting him too much, since already the treatment would be sure to sting.

"My human disguise isn't even that great... I have to be thankful that I wasn't born back in earlier years where body mods like sharp teeth weren't a thing. And would you really prefer to be a human? their lives are so short though... Surely there's got to be a perk to being a dodomeki. Maybe your eyes can be used to see into the future, or someone's past? that would be pretty cool! you could become a famous diviner!" He swayed a little in excitement about that idea. To be fair he didn't know much about dodomekis himself. Maybe he'd have to go find a book about them back in his world and do some research?

"Being me ain't so great either. being a shapeshifter.. i'm not even sure the form you see now is my actual form. Heck do I even have a form? I know that when I get too angry or too powerful I lose most of my shape. Maybe i'm not supposed to be corporeal at all! I'm also really sensitive to light. I love the day an all, but really bright sunny days kind of hurt my eyes.." He told the other this so he could attempt to cheer him up. To prove that his situation wasn't perfect either and they all have pros and cons.

"You're so clumsy. You'd think with all your extra eyes, you'd be able to see where you are going." The demon teased as he cleaned up the cuts on the dodomeki's knees and palms from the tumble he had taken prior. He was tankful none of his extra eyes were hurt or damaged during the fall, for he wasn't sure how to patch those up. Maybe there's a how to care for your many-eyed demon book somewhere back in how world? He'd have to check at some point.They were in the woods at least. Away from human eyes and judgement. They can relax and be themselves out here at least. "Your cuts don't seem that bad. Just surface wounds. nothing major." He says as he wraps Choromatsu's hands with bandages.

CLUMSY - SELF PARA

TIME FRAME: December 27th, 2014

LOCATION: Cooper Anderson's residence

NOTES: After a bad night at home Blaine takes refuge at his brother's place, doing his best to keep the true reasoning for his visible injuries a secret. 

TRIGGER WARNING: Mentions of abuse

Early morning sun streamed through the blinds, bathing the less familiar room in the bright light that reflected off the snow and stirring Blaine from his slumber. The smell of the residence--the sheets, the pillow, the room--was distantly familiar, reminiscent of all the time Blaine had spent around his brother growing up. They say any given smell--any of significance, at least--is strong enough to bring the most distant memories to surface. There was a time when all Blaine could remember of Cooper was arguing with him and never feeling like he was good enough; now all he felt was comfort and safety, a feeling that had long been lacking from his own home. 

His house. That place--it wasn't really his home. It hadn't been, not really, for a long time. Not since the first time his dad had lost his temper and completely lost control. 

Hazel eyes blinked open and, with the contraction of some muscles, squinted against the harsh light from outside. The simple movement caused a twinge of pain to shoot through his jaw, and Blaine hissed in response, almost certain he would find a bruise there when he looked in the mirror, if he could only get himself out of bed first. His bottom lip still throbbed where it was split slightly and swollen, and his head pounded. 

He'd shown up on Cooper's doorstep like this, more eager to take his brother up on his offer of "bonding" than he could ever remember being. Lying on the spot had been a lot harder than Blaine had thought it would be; he'd briefly considered telling his brother that he'd been jumped, but that would fall through, considering he still had all of his valuables with him and the teeny, tiny fact that he'd driven, not walked. He'd stumbled over his excuse just long enough to feel like he'd be caught in the lie, and then forced out the most over-used, typical explanation any and every abuse victim had used in their life: "I tripped." 

A light groan escaped his lips, of embarrassment by his complete and utter lack of imagination, and of pain as he shifted just enough to roll over, his movements slow and careful. Every shift of muscle hurt more than the last; even breathing too deeply caused him intense discomfort. The weakness in his muscles, in his very bones, was overwhelming, and all at once his breathing came in sharp, uneven gulps and gasps, his eyes burning and stinging. Things had been going so well for so long, and Blaine couldn't understand why this had happened--could his dad really hate who he was this much? Or was it just a mix of too many days off from work, too much alcohol, and a distracted mother?

With great effort, Blaine sat up, clenching his teeth against the pain in his abdomen and then hissing again, closing his eyes and hanging his head while he waited for the pain in his jaw to subside. It ebbed away slowly, until it was little more than a dull throb. Taking a slow, careful breath--but not too deep--Blaine stood, leaning heavily against the bedside table and wall. A hot bath was what he needed, preferably before Cooper woke up. Blaine had never been so grateful for being an early riser as he stepped out of the room, gripping the door handle and frame so tightly his knuckles turned white. The bathroom wasn't a far walk, but there wasn't much to steady himself on which made the trek a difficult one; he stumbled around the corner, knocking his hip into the sharp edge of the counter which in turn sent another jolt of pain up his body. His weak, fragile body that had seemed to be covered in bruises more often than not over the past year. His dad had always been sickeningly careful to avoid his face, simply for the sake of keeping up appearances.

But not this time. The water running on hot and quickly filling the tub, Blaine turned to the mirror, catching sight of the bruise along the side of his jaw which was dark and wide, the same side of his bottom lip split and swollen. Worse than that, however, was the constant pain in his side and abdomen, sharp and piercing, each aching throb a dull reminder of his father's foot connecting with his side. As the tub filled enough to turn the water off, Blaine undressed and for the first time he could see the full extent of his injuries. The large contusion around his ribs was black and blue, a dark, disturbing purple settling in where hard toe of his dad's shoe had hit. Blaine ran a delicate hand over it, even the slightest pressure sending a jolt through his body. He released a steadying, calming breath, bracing himself with his hands on the counter as he slowly but surely grew accustomed to the feeling again, the soreness and aching that came with such a beating. With slow, careful movements, Blaine moved away from the counter and, after a moment's struggle and uncertainty, stepped into and lowered himself into the bath, letting the hot water wash over his skin in the hopes that the heat would at least help with some of the soreness. How he was going to get through this week with Cooper and his dance rehearsals for the show without his lie coming to light, he didn't know. Claiming clumsiness would only last so long. Until then, he supposed he would do what he always did--put on a front and keep up the appearance that nothing was out of place.
