Gently Row (Kana-Marianne)
Of all the tasks assigned to him, this had to be the sweetest. Sure, giving hugs was fun and all, but it was so very normal—he hugged his friends even outside of church-mandated events! And, well, cliff diving was just all the way on the other end of the spectrum. But having tea with a new friend? Now, that was something he was excited for.
Their assigned tasks lined up perfectly. Marianne quietly relayed that she was supposed to take a boat out into the lake; Kana squealed when he realized just how much fun tea on the lake could be! With a bounce in his step (and assistance from Marianne), the two filled a small picnic basket with the perfect supplies for a tea party and claimed one of the many rowboats decorated with hearts, frills, and lace, and made their way to the center of the lake.
“I’ve been out rowing a ton of times, before,” Kana chitters on, filling whatever silence Marianne wasn’t comfortable with breaking herself, “but never like this! It was usually just me and mama, or Shigure, or Auntie Azura, but we never brought out tea and stuff!”
True to his word, he handled the oars with the skill and grace of someone that spent years out on the water. It was, in a way, his natural element, and when saddled with a childhood that rarely allowed him time with his own parents... he learned to fill the days with happiness instead of tears and longing.
“Can you pour our tea for us? I’m not very good at it ‘n I usually spill it. I don’t want to get you dirty!”
