there's few more all-powerful enemies than garam's impulsiveness. mostly because it had this strange, deadly sort of delay? all was well at first— the rush of making a decision and running headlong into it was always satisfying. leading with emotions; a robust pastime.
uh, but then the invisible string tightens, the ground turns to a tightrope. well... or water. or a lake. she made the stupid bet with a bunch of strangers at trivia that she had never met and it felt so good for about half an hour? even skinny-dipping felt fine, good, fun. (impulsiveness is convincing, a friend to the fearless...), uh and then... well. they were gone, and she was soaking wet and crawling back to land like a creature from the depths, shivering and gritty and red-eyed.
and then her clothes were gone, too.... impulsiveness isn't even the real killer. it's whatever happens after, huh...
luckily, the stars and the moon provide very little light and the boathouse is far enough away that no light hits the pier she'd stumbled upon. so really, there's no one to spot her nudity. but there's also very little to do about it?
she's scrambling, shuffling around the pier with a fierce desperation that made her hands shake, searching for literally anything she could wear or cover up with. long hair dripping all over weathered wood, bare feet dirty, lips drawn into a foolish pout. well.... it could be worse?
uh, it could be worse. it could be! it could. someone could see her? she chews her lip, crouched, hunched at the foot of the pier by the water. (there is sounds of party, life, far up the hill but still close enough to be heard, to light the distance). "i'm doomed." she whines to herself, drops her forehead to her knees and then inhales. picks herself up.
she, of course, then grabs the red and white life-preserver ring, and squeezes it to her like 2 little censor bars. and comes face to face with someone; and jumps 3ft in the air and almost drops said red and white life-preserver ring. "shit, oh, uh," she curses and almost falls off the pier right then and there as she squints through the dark (wobbles but saves herself) while trying to avoid eye contact.
