Lindel had said once upon a time that Elias was no more than a child-- Chise had agreed with this when he found out what loneliness was and when he had thrown his tantrum over Stella. While he was an adult in every other aspect, when it came to conveying how he felt, or anything relating to feelings, he truly was just a kid. No more mature, probably less so, than the girl for whom he had married not too long ago. Therefore it was no surprise that with the newfound comfort they had in each other that the two of them began to relive the childhood they never got to experience.
It was Chise who had suggested a blanket fort and it was Elias who had constructed it. It was massive in the living room with all the chairs and tables pushed to the side into a corner or being used to support the blankets and whatnot. Within was a nice set up with pillows and quilts covering the floor, altogether it was a comfortable locale that was rather pleasant in the temperate spring weather outside. It was no surprise than that in the darkness, while Chise was reading a book aloud to him, the older had fallen asleep snuggled up in the pillows. She had lulled him to sleep, his eyes closed and his body snuggled up to her. It wasn’t that she was boring, he was just all too happy and comfortable.
He didn’t wake until he felt the girl’s small fingers run over his skull, his eyes opening slowly and his glowing gaze focusing on her features. She was so kind and so gentle, he was certain she didn’t mean to wake him but she still did. He let out a soft purring sound for a moment before he shifted and nuzzled her affectionately. The ‘beast’ was still all too tired, sitting up he seemed buffered before he gently took the girl into his arms and let his body fall back into the pillows, this time hugging his bride to him gently. A yawn escaping him as he felt the drowsiness return.
“It’s too early to be awake...” He muttered, however the clock on the wall read that it was seven in the afternoon. He was just far too comfortable and feeling all too much like a child. “Five more minutes please...” It became apparent that Elias was a very sleepy skull puppy.
