While he had no interest in claiming her for himself, this sort of game was exactly what he preferred. His own date had been left to her opportunity to network. “I’m aware of how you prefer me, Sofia.” he told her as he offered his elbow for her to take. The touch of his hand on any other skin would have to wait until there were less eyes around.
For all the fun of sneaking around, he didn’t want to deal with the media in the after math. “Plenty of time for that later. I only just got here and I would prefer to be loquacious a little longer.” and the look in his eye didn’t bode well. “Where is your fiancé anyways?”
Sofia glanced up at the man, maintaining a strong poker face as they walked towards the bar together. She didn’t answer, though she had a feeling both of them knew where she stood.
With a perhaps too sweet smile, she waved down the bartender to pour them both two glasses of champagne before handing one to Theo. “He’s about. Mingling.” She shrugged. In all honesty she couldn’t really care less. It was a marriage to somehow make her family happy. It was old fashioned but all the same it was for her family “business” and who was she to input? “Where’s your...whatever you call her?”
