“Sam...” Kai sat in his lap on his couch, her nose in a book for the summer course for her Museum Studies minor. Her kaleidoscope eyes peaking over the edge met his. “I meant to ask earlier but... I didn’t want to be weird because I don’t talk about my childhood much but...” Kai nibbled on her bottom lip and shut the book. “Part of my class requires hands on hours in a museum, so I’m leaving for three days tomorrow morning for France. I know you probably have practice by Monday, but... is there any way you could skip out and come? I want to show you-” She’d never told anyone about Le Havre, France or her family. She did honestly try to ask before, this felt important to her, but she was nervous and it was written all over her face. It was why she’d put it off, not wanting to make Sam feel pressured to participate in her whimsy or to feel obligated to take their relationship to a more serious level, so she gave him an out and tried to pretend like it wasn’t that big of a deal. “If you can’t that’s okay too... we can just stay up late tonight so I won’t miss you too much while I’m gone?”
