ethan’s time in the military had admittedly messed him up pretty bad. while he did what he could to live with the reprecussions of it all, he still very much struggled with nightmares and well, sloane was a saint. “you deserve better than this.” he finally spoke, his body hunched forward in the bathtub as she attempted to soothe him. he stared at the faucet in front of him and glanced back at her, “am i really worth it?” he asked, his tired eyes meeting hers.

ethan promised that he would take his girlfriend out and treat her. she deserved it after everything that he put her through and he knew that. he hated that he put her through so much but she continued to reassure him that she still loved him and god, he loved her too. his hand came to the small of her back as he opened the car door for her and led her into the bar, “we’ll get a little bit of liquid courage in our systems and then i’ll take you out on the dancefloor like old times. how’s that sound?”

“-hey, you son of a bitch!” ethan grumbled as one of the goats managed to escape its fence past his leg. he was trying his best to catch it and even though he had the vampire speed, he was still just as clumsy as he was before he was turned. he jumped forward in attempt to catch the farm animal and landed face first in a pile of mud. moments later, he heard footsteps approaching and that’s when he looked up to see who it was. “how much of that did ya see? i hope only the good parts.”

ethan had no idea what he was going to do outside of the military. all he knew is that he was ready to get out and he wanted to see what other opportunities were out there. he assumed he could put his flying skills to good use though since he spent so long doing it. it was his first day outside of training and he decided to start out as a flight attendant, this running into imani who seemed so willing to help him in any way she could. "you this helpful to all the new guys or am i just lucky?" he joked, his eyes glancing over at her as he shifted to make some more coffee for the passengers. "either way, i have to say, you've made this whole first day at a new job as smooth as butter. thank you for that."

“-get out.” ethan grumbled at the blonde woman. the man had been through a lot in his life and he always managed to find a way to mess up the good things in his life. “did you hear me? i said get out!” he had woken her up with one of his night terrors and he didn’t like her seeing him like this. a matter of fact, he was almost confused as to why she was with him at all. “go!”

ethan had just got back from his orders overseas and of course the first thing that he was going to do was visit his best friend. he hadn’t told him he was coming over and instead, planned on surprising him but the only person that seemed to be home at the time with his little sister. she’d definitely matured since the last time he’d seen her. “so,” he turned to look at her, leaning his head against his hand, “you think i should ruin the surprise and text your brother or is he bound to walk through the door at any minute?”

ethan was the irresponsible sibling and he narrowed that down to him being the youngest sibling, “come on, alexis. you don’t think i can make a feed run without you comin’ along?” that was the thing - he couldn’t. the man would definitely get distracted. on top of that, when he was out he liked to flirt and alexis was definitely going to kill any chance of getting any girl’s phone numbers. he groaned and leaned his head against the door of his old, red cheverlet truck. “fine! fine, alright. we ain’t got all day. i don’t wanna hear it from mickey if we’re gone too damn long.”

ethan zoned out. he couldn't help but to do just that. he was tired of the arguing. tired of the back and forth, and more importantly, he just wasn't sure there was going to be a future between the two of them. "honestly," he finally spoke, turning to look at the other who was going off next to him, "i haven't been listening for the past ten minutes. if this is going to be an every night thing, what's the point of all of this? i...don't see one. i mean, couples fight but now like this."
