I feel like Three-Thirty is somewhat underrated. It really grew on me over time and is now one of my favorites from The Click. I find the vulnerability and pleading nature of the lyrics to be endearing and very relatable.

Okay, on the subject of 3 o’clock things, it’s kinda the perfect blend of three-thirty and 3AM.

Because like recently, at first I was like “well 3:30 and 3 o’clock things make perfect sense both having three in the title, because both of them are rambly songs about random thoughts and stuff that you want to just get out, but why’s 3AM part of the threelogy?”(I’m aware trilogy already has “three” in it but bear with me a bit)

So then more recently I was like relating to 3AM’s feeling of “I’m scared as hell that you won’t like me in the morning, that you won’t like me the way that I like you”, and also, less importantly, the “I just can’t believe that you chose a guy like me,” and then I realized that oh, this is also why I love and relate to the chorus of 3 o clock things (I only recently started seeing any real emotional connection in myself with 3 AM), because it’s that same feeling of “what if when you see who I really am you’ll stop liking me,” with the “would you go running if you saw the real me, maybe you’d love him, yeah maybe you’d feel me but I’ll never ask you cause that’s super scary.”

So then I’m like, “but three thirty doesn’t really have any connection with three am!”

Then I realized, that 3 o’clock things is the connection. It combines both that rambling feeling, and the fear that you won’t like one’s real self. It combines them perfectly, if you think about it. 3:30 has that impatience, where it’s like, “I want you to listen to all of these things I wanna say before your attention is gone, before you stop looking” and then three o clock things injects it with 3AM’s late night “what if this is something dumb I’m doing late,” and also a fear of being rejected and someone running away once you say all these things, if you even say them at all.

Which I’m sure was totally intentional, right? (I don’t know what tone tag to use because I genuinely don’t know if it’s intentional)
