Things Cassandra Clare needs to learn:

♥ Using fancy words does not make you a good author, nor does the use of such words have any effect when the rest of the writing is, well, not too good.

♥ The same word does not have to be used over and over to explain what a thing looks like. After the 20th time, I think people will get it.

♥ When one uses the same word to describe a million different things, it sort of takes away the point of setting something apart by use of aforementioned word in the first place.

♥ Subtlety.

♥ Never underestimate ones readers.

♥ Some consistency would be appreciated, plot-wise as well as in writing style.

My predictions for the rest of the book: (Or until new information is made available. Because, this being the end of Part I, I'd like to point out nothing much has happened this far.)

Well, I know Jace and Clary are supposedly brother and sister by the end of the book (until further notice), and that has to happen some way. Jace's hair is blond, so is the lock of hair in Jocelyn's box, so I think she's going to play the "his father, her mother" card, but I'm not quite sure.

I liked the Valentine/Jocelyn developement, although I saw that coming from miles and miles. And I really hope we'll get to see more of Luke (we must). He's interesting, and awesome, and if he really were a traitor, he'd have turned Clary in right away, instead of sounding relieved on the phone and lying to those men about how she "would have turned up by now."
