I’m glad to hear this.  A renter should not be able to have that much sway.  It sounds like you have given yourself plenty of time to figure everything out.

Yeah, I agree. And thank you for being supportive.

I’ve decided (very childishly) not to talk to the renter unless she talks to me first until she makes some attempt to apologize for her (what felt like) attack. Or at explain. (I mean, I’m not one to use tears as an excuse to leave a situation, but I was bawling. You’d think she’d pause and let me collect myself, at least.) But I’m not sure that’s ever gonna happen, because I don’t think she thinks she did anything wrong by continuing to insist I make a conclusion despite the ocean coming out of my face and her refusal to budge from her pedestal.

I leave again tomorrow morning anyway. Maybe by the time I get back in August I’ll have forgiven her enough to initiate conversation. Maybe.
