Norsery Rhymes from A to Z Gangleri - Odin, The One Tired of Walking
Well here we are another Thor’s Day and another 20 min sketch of a Norse (and Germanic) mythological characters. This week it’s Gangleri, one of the possible names attributed to Odin in the Prose Edda in the Gylfaginning .
His name is thought to mean “wanderer", “wayward” or “the one tired of walking”.
In the story three Kings Hár (High), Jafnhár (Just As High), and Þriði / Thridi (Third) are put to the challenge of knowledge of the Aesir by their disguised High King Gylfi as a wanderer Gangleri.
It's thought that the whole talk is just Odin having an illusory discussion with himself.
