Hi, I (M???) recently had a lake party during which I turned everyone into birds, then they broke the curse, and then I was "killed." Look it's a long story.
Well... despite everything, several party guests have asked that I turn them back into birds and hold them hostage forever... is this normal? How do I let them down gently?

I need to be real with you: we’re in modern times, and this isn’t the Prythian of 15,000 years ago. People are more than free to pursue… shall we say, more alternative lifestyles than they were in ages past. I think I remember this party… if memory serves, you the host of that party wanted to hold their guests hostage forever in the first place, right?
If so, then this seems like exactly the kind of situationship all parties want!
But if you must let them down, I think your silence is speaking volumes here. I’m sure that if you just go on a long vacation—maybe back to your lake?—and lay low for awhile, they’ll take the hint.
