Chap Goh Mei The 15th Day of Chinese New Year marks the close of celebrations. Aunties and Tua Pek mark this auspicious day with a fabulous dinner cooked by Aunty KK. Aunty Yoke Har brought her CNY Kuih Tart, Kuih Sipit (folded love letters) and Kuih Koya. As per tradition, mandarins were prepared for the throwing of mandarins. The currently unpartnered ones amongst us wrote our name and contact number on the mandarins with waterproof ink. After dinner we take them to the waters edge, and potential suitors (hopefully a yacht owner) will fish them up and live happily ever after, cruising the seas.
