The Last Survivor of Mu - Rouge ✨Mega Man Star Force 2 ✨
Megaman Production Art Scan of the Day #762:
Shingo Adachi's Story of Meteor Artbook: Page 27
No, those weird dark line cuts are not from my scanner, it really was printed that way. It's more noticeable at full view in this resolution, so it appears his scans of Hayaya and the Tribe art were on multiple pieces of paper and they weren't aligned perfectly before being captured for this book.
While I haven't fully cleaned it up for Scan of the Day, you can still see a cleaner scan of Hayaya's settei here, that I have already posted.
Tribe key art for clarification on his missing Subaru and Rockman:
And yes, Adachi, I liked that other idol rival of Misora's, too...
*ahem*...I mean, who? (thanks, Ian! LOL)

Yay, Shingo Adachi Artworks book has arrived! Alas, sadly, 16 mere pages of Rockman art in a 300+ page book is a little disappointing. As is essentially half of that number being already previously available in other Rockman artbooks. There aren’t really any rare production pieces or concept works, as most of the book is devoted to full-color illustrations. A few pages containing his monochrome works from his other Ryuusei artbook, but nothing new.
I love his art style regardless, and even if I’m not as familiar with the other series he’s worked on, there are a lot of other really nice pieces throughout the book. So still worth it, but just sad that so little of his Rockman works get any spotlight here.
To show off a little today, here are some of the Ryuusei pieces. I will say that the colors in this artbook really vary. For some pages, the colors are bright and vibrant, others, something really feels off with the print. Definitely could be due to the files he had, but in these particular scans, the colors felt very muted. The reds especially looked so dull. So I had to kick up the saturation a bit as I touched them up.
The first is a clean crop of the new art used on the cover of this book, followed by a wedding-themed Subaru and Misora that I don’t recall ever seeing before. The text translation makes it sound like it was a gift for the wedding of someone on the Ryuusei production staff.
Then a clean look at Tribe art, followed by general illustrations of Subaru and Rockman. He mentions that they ‘may have been intended for DVD or other merchandise packages,’ but unfortunately in Japan, the show was never released on DVD. And that was ‘very disappointing’ because he ‘wanted to draw them more and they were his favorite characters.’ Of course, one of them was actually used on a DVD, the Viz UK English version utilized the bottom right Rockman on its back cover. But yeah, another sad realization that those shows never got a complete DVD or Blu Ray set, Japanese-only or not. Tomorrow, I‘ll show off a few of the EXE pieces.

Ninja and Dinosaurs and Lightning Bolts, oh my!
Tribe form (and Burai) sticker art from the 2008 Wave Masters event and alternate concept art of those forms.
Because one of these forms is heavily on my mind right now...for reasons...

Following up last week’s request, a few more Wave Command Card Kit images for @shaiapouf. This set has Gemini Spark and Rogue Sword’s set of Normal/SP/EX cards, along with another trio of Giga cards, and Mega Man’s 3 main Tribe forms from Star Force 2.
