Friday night: Bowling night! - Group para~

The smoke rings dissolved in the air for the dragon amusement as he breathed it out for once again while he was waiting for the others in front of the building. To be honest when Yoon told him first his idea about going out together he didn’t understand the reasons behind it but for then the sunspirit’s enthusiasm also infected him too. 

He rarely saw Thunder interacting with others to not to speak about Yoon and Rival so it was obvious that the night, or better evening, what was ahead of them filled the dragon with curiosity and excitement. 

“Here!” He waved as he finally noticed Thunder’s well covered figure, nudging his ribs when he reached him. “You’re late. I clearly wrote in that text 4 pm, the girls inside thought that I was kidding when I rented the bowling hall. Hey!” He interrupted himself when the other two also dropped in signing them where the entrance was.

Thunder used his uninjured hand to tap on the door frame of the nurse’s office. “I burnt myself,” he sheepishly explained holding up his hand to show the raw skin on his palm. He really hadn’t wanted to come, but after the pain refused to subside after several hours, he thought it’d be best to leave it up to a professional.

Just working on  some reports for the headmaster, the nurse wished something would help her to get rid of all this paper work that was boring her to death. Looking up from her desk, she immediately shot up from her chair and rushed towards the door as the student was seriously injured. She should have not wished for some other work than those papers as it meant pain for others. Carefully leading him to an empty bed, she looked at his hand, “What happened?”

Thunder didn’t look up from the stack of paperwork in his hands as the woman entered his office carrying the note. You would never guess the angel was nearing seventy-five with his permanently youthful face, but if you looked too deep into his eyes, the coldness he had acquired over the years was undeniable. “Sir, there is a message for you. There’s been a death.” The sound that fell from his lips was more of a growl than the intended sigh as he finally turned his attentions towards her. “This is Hell, you’ll have to be more specific than that,” he deadpanned already tired of her meek presence. Quickly backtracking, she thrust the piece of paper towards him nervously while explaining. “It was a dragon blood named Heechul. His family sent this.” Thunder froze for a second before snatching the note out of her hands and reading it again and again trying to comprehend the words. Thankfully, the young assistant slipped quietly out of the room now that her job was done.

A few portals and a short plane ride later, the dark angel found himself outside the cemetery gates trying his best to make out the service happening down the hill; he hadn’t regretted not being able to step on sacred ground until that moment. He should be there; those people don’t know Heechul like he does…he did. He couldn’t still couldn’t believe it. Heechul was gone, and he hadn’t been there. Every accidentally unreturned phone call and all the canceled lunch plans suddenly made him feel sick. Thunder leaned his back against the gates and allowed his body to slowly slide to the cement not caring as his suit was ruined in the process. It has his fault they had lost touch; he couldn’t deny it even if he tried. They had slowly drifted apart after they left the academy. Thunder went his way while Heechul went his. There was no big fight or reason for it, each one just became busy, and schedules conflicted and then plans just stopped being made altogether.

The dull ache that started in his chest was quickly becoming unbearable. After he had gotten his wings, he had lost touch with so many emotions that he had forgotten what it was like to feel. For the first time in decades, he was sad and guilty and hurt. “You were my first friend, and I let you slip through my fingers. I should have been there,” he sighed not caring for a second how odd he would look to someone passing by. The pressure in his chest turned into a lump in his throat, but no tears came; he didn’t even think he was capable of crying anymore, not even for one of the first people he ever cared about. “I’m so sorry, Heechul.” He was sorry they had lost touch, sorry he couldn’t love Heechul the way he wanted him to when they were young, sorry for all the times he ignored him for a week after he pulled some stupid prank, he was sorry for all of it. He also regretted never asking Heechul if dragons retained any memories after they were reincarnated, and if he did ask, he regretted not being able to remember the answer. With one last shaky sigh, Thunder rose to his feet trying his best to straighten his jacket and brush the dust off of his pants. He was confident Heechul would find his way back to him on his next go around, and if he didn’t, well, how hard can it be to hunt down a dragon?

(I think the thought of them slowly drifting apart is so much sadder than like a big fight or anything like that)

Thunder groaned staring up at the ceiling of his dorm listening to the faint sound of footsteps coming from the hall. What the heck was he going to get that damn dragon for Christmas? It wasn’t exactly his favorite holiday, but Heechul had gotten him a gift, and he’d feel like an asshole if he didn’t get him something in return. He debated just making him dinner, but he did that all the time, and it didn’t feel particularly gift-y or heartfelt. Thunder stretched his arms above his head accidentally knocking his keys off his bedside table in the process and giving him an idea.

Outside the dragon’s door sat a tiny red box. Inside was a plain silver key and a note that read “Merry Christmas, now you can stop breaking into my room. ” signed the a ‘T’.

“I like your hair, and I think it likes me too,” the fallen chuckled brushing off a few rogue strands that had clung to his coat when the girl took her seat beside him. He knew he had never seen her in Manipulation before, but with his track record for skipping class, that wasn’t saying much. “I’m Thunder,” he grinned offering her a hand. “Nice to meet you.”

“To remember me by.” Seungie remarked with a humored grin, taking the hand that had been offered to her daintily. “Seungie, and the pleasure is mine.” She winked and reached to pluck another blond strand from his coat. “How can someone with as cute a face as yours be in a manipulation class?”

Dear person I had a crush on,

If you asked me earlier... I would write this as person I have a crush on. However, my heart feels torn. I am just a mere genie, used for his powers and tossed to the side. Would anyone really care for me that way? I always blush when I’m with you, heart is racing, but the anxiety sneaks in. The worry that either you would just use me, or someone would hurt you or worse. Why am I so scared to love again when my body is calling for a single touch of your hand, or to hear your laugh again? I’m driving myself crazy, and its all because of you, my dear.

Maybe one day... I’ll listen to my heart and tell you those fateful three words.

Of course it would happen as the angel took a sip of her drink that she would look up just in time to see someone careening to the floor, papers flying around them as they hit the ground. In the past she might have laughed at such a thing had it not been for it happening to her a few times and her knowing it wasn’t a fun feeling. Rising from her seat she quickly made her way to the boy stooping beside him as she placed cool fingers on his cheek. “Hey, hey can you hear me? You look quite pale.”

Despite having been on Earth for several years now, he was still unsure exactly how to go about choosing birthday gifts, but he knew they were supposed to be personal and meaningful which he wasn’t always the best at. So, after a moment of hesitation, the fallen slid a plain white envelope signed with a hastily scribbled drawing of a cloud with a lightning bolt coming out of it under Changjo’s door.

Inside was a worn, yellow get out of jail free card that he had stolen from the Monopoly game in the common room. On the back, in Thunder’s surprisingly neat handwriting, was the most heartfelt message he could stomach writing followed by a phone number he knew the other already had, but it was the principle.

“I’m always here whenever you need me.”

Opening the door in haste, he had accidentally stepped on the envelope that was lying at its sill. 

Picking up the letter ( which now had a faint shoe print over the drawing on it ), he carefully unsealed it and pulled out the card inside.

A faint smile tugged at his lips as his eyes quickly scanned over the words. It may not have said much, but the meaning behind the message was worth more than any length of words ever could be. 

He’d definitely be keeping this one. 

Walking over to the wall next to his bed, he gently pinned the note up, the envelope with the cloud and bolt was taped under shortly after.

Yeah, he’d definitely be keeping this one. Friends like Thunder were hard to come by.
