JAVELIN is designed to replace the DRAGON. 3/1 was presented with this award. It was a big deal back in the day to be the first unit in the Corps to have this weapon. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on August 15, 2004. Shared by Fernando’s Brother, Ric who is also an Iraq Combat Veteran runs the Regular Infantry Guys podcast. His brothers example inspired him to serve.
