1, 5 and 18 for Kayo 😁💕
Hey thanks for asking.💛💛
1 ・What's a queer headcanon you enjoy?
I have quite a few but my favourite is Panromantic Ace Gordon.
Gender isn't something that affects his feelings for someone, guys, gals and enby pals are all cuties in his eyes, he's a hopeless romantic and will smother his partner in love and affection.
I think a few people may have said this before but I think Gordon loves very fully and openly with friends, family and romantic partners, he's also not someone who inherently prioritises romantic relationships over his platonic and familial ones.
5 ・Talk about a fanwork with queer themes that you'd like to make.
Kinda predictable but expanding on the adventures of Gordon and his new sidekick Seasquirt; I was thinking about doing something with them like elder queer helps baby queer figure out their identity.
Also maybe something where they're out and about and Gords gets quite an obvious crush on a barista or something and Squirt is poking a little fun but also hyping him up to ask them out. It turns into a conversion about how crushes are different from being in love which is why he's happy keeping his crush to himself. Squirt doesn't really understand immediately since they're just a kiddo and also aroace. (I mean, I just learnt this recently lol)
18 ・Send me a character and I'll tell you what queer character they'd connect with: Kayo Edition
So... I haven't really consumed many pieces of queer media since I watch more cartoons than anything else and queer rep in cartoons is still quite rare but I think I've got a character for you.
Garnet (Ruby and Sapphire) from Steven Universe
She's a strong, badass fighter who'd take on the Diamond Authority for her loved ones, much like how Kayo takes on the Hood for her family. I think Kayo would also see a lot of herself in the two gems that Garnet represents, the hot headed but loyal Ruby and the Cool and Elegant Sapphire.
Hi there! I might be interested in joining the event! (Ships are my middle name XD)
Sorry for me being a dumb dumb, but how do I participate? ^0^
Hi there! So happy to hear it!! On the 1st of May we'll publish a calendar of events to participate in. You can do as much or as little as you like! So for example if you're a writer, you might like to write a fic where Lady Penelope is a lesbian (doesn't have to be the focus!), in which case you could post it on the day we've set aside to celebrate lesbian pride! Or maybe you're an artist who gets inspired by prompts? In which case there a bingo board being posted on one of the days which you could use to inspire queer artwork 😄💕
The bottom line is you can participate by making queer content and posting it 😄 That's all!
And for the people out there who haven't gotten too involved in making things before, this is a gentle encouragement to share your voice 💕💕💕 We'd love to have as many people as possible participate! But if that's something you're not confident in, you can participate simply by sharing other people's work and spreading positivity! Reblogging posts, making fic rec lists, leaving comments are all great ways to participate 😄
It's so exciting to see how excited everyone is!! And we can't WAIT to share what we've prepared 💕
Alan + 4 and/or John + 7 ? <33

For @thunder-pride's colour palette challenge!!
Hi. I love that this event is happening. I love that it encourages inclusiveness and the promotion of all kinds of relationships.
I hate that I feel like I won't be able to contribute. I mean, I feel like I can't create anything that would feel authentic because my own experience is all very hetero-normal (and I'm not even certain I'm using that word right). That said, I find it difficult to explore romantic (or sexy) relationships in my own fanworks anyway.
I want to be encouraging and supportive, but in all honesty, I'm not sure until I see it whether I'm comfortable seeing/reading some of these ships, so my engagement in the finished products of this event might be very hit and miss.
I guess what I'm saying is that I'm conflicted. I don't think this event is for me, but I'm still very grateful that it's happening, and that so many people are very excited by it.
Hi
I first want to say that it doesn't matter how you identify, anyone can join in on this event. But if you are worried about being authentic or that your own experiences will get in the way of creating something, that is why we created the cheatsheet and have an abundance of posts coming out over the next few weeks to help you understand each identity and how to create characters that identify as such. You can also send us an ask if you have any questions too!
This event is not just about ships and romantic relationships. It is about exploring all identities that fall under the rainbow, which includes gender identity and ace and aro characters too. Even if you do want to explore a character who is, for example, gay or a lesbian, then you don't even need to place them in a ship if you don't want to. Afterall, you don't need to be in a relationship to be queer or to validate your identity.
I'm sorry to hear you are conflicted about participating, but maybe you will feel better once the full calender with all the prompts and activities goes out on 1st May. You will get a better idea of what this event is about then, and if not, then no worries! You don't even need to create anything to contribute! You can set your own levels of comfort and create as much or as little as you want.
The point of this event is to celebrate and have fun, and if you're not having fun, then that's fine to step back. You can wait to see what others create and decide then if you want to contribute, and if you still don't, we don't mind. We just want you to be happy and comfortable 💕
Hi! For the thunderpride ask game! Number 15 with Gordon! :)))
Hey Corn, thanks for asking.💛💛
15 ・Send me a character and I'll tell you how they'd support someone else coming out: Gordon edition
Where do I start..?
Hugs, lots of hugs. He'd probably chat and get to know more about their identity and how to support them.
If they weren't ready to come out to anyone else he'd respect that and keep it private, he'd also be willing to help them come out to others if they wanted.
When supporting someone who's trans, he'd help get them anything they needed like a binder or new clothes and try out new names and pronouns.
Basically he's just so proud and happy for his loved one, he'd throw a whole coming out party if you'd let him.
(I've also got a bit of a coming out story idea which I might do something with idk lol)
Hi! For the ask game, could I please request 1, and 12 for Virgil please?
1 (what's a queer headcanon you enjoy?)
Ooh I enjoy a lot of queer headcanons!
bisexual, trans woman Gordon, and polyamorous and ace John are really awesome I think and I'd love to see them explored more!
12 + Virgil (How would they show off their identity)
Oooh ok. Similarly to Gordon, I think Virge would be a big proponent of pins and stickers, but to a lesser degree perhaps (less volume, perhaps)
I think Virgil would actively discuss his experiences with people, in casual situations especially.
Virgil also strikes me as the person who lets his identity out through his art, both musically and visually, but I think his music is where he expresses his identity more subtly, while his visual art explores and shows off his identity more literally
10, and 15 for John? <33
10 (favourite experience creating queer content for fandom?)
Being a part of the team for Thunder-Pride! Exploring the identities of these characters (Gordon and John in particular) allowed me to connect with these super lovely people, and seeing the thunderfam so enthusiastic for this event has made me so unbelievably grateful to be in such a good fandom
It's also given me the courage to actually write the queer fics I want ti for this fandom, and I'm going to be posting those at some point lol, and continue to keep writing them
15 + John (How would they support someone else coming out?)
John would be practical. Especially if it's still early on in that person's coming out journey. What do they need, what do they want. If all they want is a sounding board and emotional support, he's so good for that. It's what he wanted. If they want a more direct approach, an plan of action to further come out, he's there for that, too. His number one method of support is listening to their needs, to what they're saying. If they don't know what they want, he's happy to support them in that, too.
