Intro post
What is thunderstarscode?
Thunderstars code is an au where Thunderstar became so paranoid about molly's ruining his clan that he decided to subjugate them.
So basically, its a Thunderclan misogyny au.
At first his code started with one simple rule, "1. No molly shall ever hold a position of power in Thunderclan."
Then more came as the clan grew.
2. All mollys over 6 moons must be assigned to a tom.
3. When a tom reaches 6 moons he is eligible to own a molly
4. All molly's must be assigned their warrior names by their owners.
5. Molly's may be medicine cats. Provided there is at least one tom in the role as well.
6. All molly's under 12 moons must take heat suppressant herbs, unless ordered otherwise by their owner. Toms under 12 moons may not take their mollys off of heat suppressants.
7. Molly's must obey every order made by their toms. No matter what she thinks, her place is to obey.
8. A molly's kits are her owners, unless he relinquishes the claim.
9. No molly may attend the gatherings. They cannot be trusted not to gossip.
10. When a mollys owner dies, she must be given until sunhigh to grieve, before she is assigned a new owner.
I thought including heat cycles would help somewhat with overpopulation. Also Thunderclan always has the largest territory because they fight and make deals for it. Molly's are allowed to be warriors, only if their owners are okay with it. Its seen as a status symbol to have a strong molly for some.
Most female leaders/ Deputies are just gender swapped in history. Unless their gender was important, then they are just replaced. Except for Doestar. I came up with some fun lore for her.
So thats Thunderstars code. Feel free to send asks or chat. I plan to make a clngen off this lol. Will probably post to my ao3 so Tumblr doesn't nuke me.
SoI was thinking about Millie in this AU and theres no way she would bring Graystripe home if she knew everything.
But if Graystripe never really mentions it, or makes it a point to not talk about it because he knows Thunderclan is uniquely right (their opinion) then I think he'd get her help. The rest is sunk cost fallacy, also Graystripe is nice to her despite tricking her in.
What's Daisy's place in new ThunderClan? Does she still join them willingly? - OG anon
Daisy still functions as a permaqueen, but under more of a strained role. Daisy fled the barn like in canon, and she is welcomed in. But after the kits are situated and she falls asleep..
She finds herself in her own ownership ceremony. Being passed off to Rainwhisker. She's violated and humiliated.
After that she tries repeatedly to escape with her kits. But her attempts are thwarted and she's treated cruely for them.
She regrets everyday entering Thunderclan but given her fight, she's rarely allowed out without supervision.
She also has an extra litter with Rainwhisker before her and Spiderlegs in canon. Who she is still in love with, just under different circumstances. He's a rare nice tom to her and she hopes he'd free her.
Since my brains on Firestar.. I believe he definitely has/ had a thing for Graystripe. And him being the perfect Thunderclan tom, he never acted on it. Instead he gave Graystripe one of his daughters and then claimed both of Graystripe and Millie's daughters as his own.
He also definitely heterosexually wishes Graystripe was a molly, or that his daughters looked more like him.
I need to calculate/ create a list
But so far it seems Firestar has the most molly's of Thunderclan leaders.
But take that with some salt because he, Oakstar, Pinestar, and Thrushstar are the only ones ive bothered with.
How the other clans feel
With Thunderclan being the only* clan like this. You might be wondering, how do the other clans react?
Well, its an open secret amongst the clans. New Warriors are let in on it, while Apprentices share kitten friendly stories about Thunderclan eating all she-cat kits so theres none.
Shadowclan sees it as Thunderclans greatest weakness. They have all these warriors they refuse to use. Its ridiculous.
Riverclan frowns upon it and at the old territories they would offer mollys sanctuary.
Windclan is disgusted by it and would help any cat who wanted out. They won't host them in camp but they know how to hide them.
Historical Skyclan was neutral on it. They didn't really care about what Thunderclan did in their own borders. But modern skyclan is where the asterisk comes into play.
*of the clans we know in arc 1
Modern Skyclan was refound by a Thunderclan cat. So, they are positive towards the system and work off their own version of the code.
I know in a lot of real societies that treat women as property, the most respected members of the community (usually the oldest) get more women than the less respected members (the youngest), who have to wait their turn. Does ThunderClan work like that in your AU, or is attaining a she-cat at 6 moons considered as a coming-of-age thing?
It varies by leader, since they assign owners. But most favor themselves and their friends, since mollys are a status symbol. Then the senior warriors/ elders and other high ranks. Its rare for a 6 moon old Tom to actually get a molly when they are apprenticed.
When it does happen, the toms are seen as blessed and mature. Surely the leader saw potential to give them a molly so young.
So short answer, yes.
