Thor trailer- Ephiny’s thoughts
OOC: Just watched it (Thank you @worthystill for posting it). And... Okay. I couldn’t listen to it (at work), so I could only watch the visuals. But it looks great. It really does.
Can we talk about how Valkyrie slays that outfit???
I’m not going to post any spoilers about it, I’m not.
Or, well, okay, I’m not going to mention anything else specifically that is in the trailer.
So, I am excited for this movie. MCU Jane is not my favorite character in the movies, so originally I was going to only see it so I can watch it with my bestie who is my IRL Loki and because Jamie Alexander is supposed to be back as Sif in this movie. But this trailer looks great. It really does, and I’m looking forward to it, but...
I’m also scared.
I am scared and nervous. Sif is one of my favorite Marvel characters, and she is my favorite in the Thor franchise. Hearing she was coming back is originally the second-to-main/only reason I was going to see this movie in theaters.
And I’m really afraid of them either killing Sif a la the Warriors Three in Ragnarok or pulling a Dark World to only use her as angst over a possible rekindling of a romance between Thor and Jane. My girl does not deserve either of those options. And the closer it gets to the premiere, the more nervous I get. Because I’ve seen stills and such of the other characters, but I haven’t seen boo with Sif, and while I love Taika Waititi and his style, I was very disappointed how he handled the Warriors Three. Which, again, makes me more nervous about Sif.
I’m pretty sure I’ll get some messages from Thor/Jane fans who hate Sif, or Thor fans who’ll tell me that she’s not a major character so I shouldn’t hang everything on a movie about how they’re going to handle a “minor character”, but...she’s my favorite. I don’t care if she’s a main character or not, she’s MY favorite, and given the MCU’s track record with Sif, I’m worried about what will happen to her in this new movie.
I’m still going to go see it. I’m just...probably going to scream in the theater again like I did during my first screening of Infinity War.
