My own fan-tribe. There has probably been other lightning fan tribes created, but this is my take on them. ThunderWings can breathe lightning, the range, destructive power, and speed is greater than that of the other tribes Fire Breathe, Frost Breath, and Poison Spit. However, its rate of attack is slower, as they need to charge up first before unleashing, making it predictable if used wrong.
Location and Origins
The ThunderWing tribe lives on a group of floating islands inside an ever-lasting storm-cloud above the SkyWing Kingdom. The SkyWings never checked it out due to rumors about dragons never returning from entering. The ThunderWings originated from a group of SkyWings and SeaWings who believed in Raishinju and desired to gain some of his power by interbreeding with each other.
Religion
The ThunderWings have a society based off medieval Japan, they worship the Lightning God of Creation and Destruction; Raishinju no Kaikito who they believed created the world with their lightning and shaped it with their thunder. They have temples dedicated to this God and several other minor deities.
Royalty and Governance
When it comes to royalty, the ThunderWings don’t have a Royal Family in the traditional sense. The original Emperor of the ThunderWings was said to be in mythology the child of Raishinju known as Kaminaritsuchi no Kaikito, but according to mythology, while Kaminaritsuchi had a mortal body, their spirit was immortal and would reincarnate into a new vessel immediately after the previous one died.
So in other words, once the old Emperor died. All the eggs that hatched 24 hours after his/her death would be inspected by the Dai-Reihai (Grand Congregant) who would choose the next Emperor. Then the chosen hatchling would go through a series of rituals and be officially crowned the new Emperor. But until they reach the age of adulthood, the Dai-Reihai makes all the governing decisions. However, the Emperor is still referred to and worshipped as the Emperor even before they reach that age. The Emperor can be any sex or gender, since they don’t believe that the spirit of Kaminaritsuchi as a sex at all. Most of the common-class dragons aren’t allowed to even lay an eye on the Emperor, if they need to speak to him, it is behind a large veil on one of his many throne rooms.
Lightning Color Meaning
Blue Lightning: The most common and normal color of most dragons. This lightning is decently fast and powerful. It is powerful enough to kill a full-grown dragon when a direct hit is landed. However, if it doesn’t directly hit then it is survivable.
Red Lightning (The Akarai Clan): A cold lightning that has the effect of Frost Burn when it comes in contact with something. This lightning is rare but is also considered demons by most ThunderWings even though there are no laws against their existence. Therefore, these dragons are mistreated by most ThunderWings and are segregated. They have tried to revolt several times but have been defeated every single time. They created their own clan known as the Akarai Clan that lives within their own part of the city.
Yellow/Gold Lightning: This is seen as a blessing from Raishinju himself and only for the Emperor or High-Ranked Spiritual Leaders to Wield. Some Dragons are born with this lightning while other can have it through a different way. This lightning is extremely hot and electrifying. This lightning is also highly destructive, causing massive explosion where-ever it lands.
Green Lightning (Hisuiarashi Clan): Also known as ‘Jade Volt’, this lightning is rare and a sign of talent and good fortune. This lightning is hotter and more powerful than normal lightning. However, this difference can be overcome by a normal ThunderWing by training really hard. Similarly to the Akarai Clan, they created their own clan with their own special location in the capital city.
Dark Thunder: This lightning is what occurs when a red lightning dragon has the Super-Cell mutation. It is equal to Yellow/Gold lightning in power, speed, and destructive capabilities.
Mutations
Storm-Scales: This power belongs to ThunderWings born with too much lightning, they fry and shock anything they touch like a living taser. These dragons are isolated from birth and live in a special boarding school meant to teach them how to live normally.
Unblessed-Scales: Dragons who are born from twin eggs who had their lightning powers robbed from them while in their eggs. They are smaller, duller, and weaker than most ThunderWings, and therefore are either pitted by others or looked down upon.
Super-Cell Dragons: a rare type of ThunderWing that is able to access Yellow/Gold Lightning via emotional spikes. This temporarily rids Lightning Breath of its slow charge weakness at the cost of quickly exhausting the user. Making these dragons more powerful than most normal yellow or gold ThunderWings. Emperor Raikō is one of these dragons.
Animus Dragons: These dragons are born with magical powers, these dragons are considered blessed by Raishinju. However, they know about the curse of animus magic, they believe those who start doing dark things with their magic become demons and must be killed.
