↪ @thxchosen sent 💔 / from tommy for kimberly. google number generater gave ━ seventy-one.
angel grove park was kimberly's favorite place to be alone ― especially now that she didn't live with either of her parents. the silence in her apartment was too deafening at times. at least here at the park there was activity, sounds. the birds, the cars driving by. she could think if there was noise, if she wasn't forced to listen to herself breathe. forced to notice how her hands shook and how she nervously played with the long strands of her caramel hair.
which, was something she was doing right now ― as her gaze was locked on the sunset before her. the park would be overtaken by the sound of crickets instead of birds soon, but that was just fine with her.
the thought that her mind lingered on was that she had to tell tommy the truth, why she'd been so quiet the past week. her phone was open in her free hand, ready to dial his number ― but every time she thought she was brave enough, all the negative thoughts would come rushing back into her mind. her mother will be livid, she could hear the insults hurled at her now; that her life was ruined, her prospects gone. her father would just be disappointed, kimberly assumed. he always knew she was smart, but this . . . wasn't on the list of things smart girls did.
why was telling tommy she was pregnant more difficult then battling aliens? she could jump headfirst into a fist fight with a putty and not bat an eye, yet now, the pink ranger found herself unable to simply tell the person closest to her something that affected him too. it dawned on kimberly that perhaps that was what stopped her the most ― this wasn't just about her, it was about tommy too; and she felt guilty.
she put her phone down with a frustrated huff, focusing on how the sky turned from a soft orange to a deep violet ― and now kimberly was aware of the sound of footsteps behind her. on edge, the brunette stood up in a hurry; ready to defend herself against what she had assumed was an enemy; but it was only tommy, and kimberly relaxed in an instant.
" it's not nice to sneak up on people, tommy! " the brunette whined, slumping back down on the rock she had been sitting on.
