Well, I played with genetics, and made Minerva's late husband, and Darrel and Gemma's dad. Meet Aurelius (for now). Aurelius is based on Darrel but has blue eyes like Gemma. Or the other way round, Gemma has blue eyes like Aurelius. I turned him into a ghost who maybe will return to life. I still haven't explored the Life and Death pack despite looking forward to it so much when it came out. Shame on me.
And before you wonder, but Tia, that's not a ghost! You can switch off the ghost overlay in CAS. Or else this picture would be rather boring, wouldn't it?
@misspepeshi suggested Bella Goth as an elder and wished for some lore magic.
After a long and fulfilling career in the fashion and beauty industry (at least that's what everyone says), Bella retired to enjoy her time as an elder. Now she and Mortimer travel the world even more, pursue their hobbies, and devote a lot of time and money to charity work. But most importantly, they enjoy spending more time with their children, children-in-law, and, of course, spoiling their grandchildren.
Occults age different from humans. While vampires don't age at all once they reach adulthood, spellcasters age in slow motion. So it's hard to tell how old spellcasters really are or can get. Having an array of age-affecting potions and appearance-changing spells at hand just adds to the time-defying looks of spellcasters.
(On the other hand, werevolves are the occult with the shortest lifespan due to their ridiculously high metabolism and how much toll the transformations take on their bodies. They still have a longer lifespan than humans and aliens though. Merfolk have a significant longer lifespan than humans and aliens and can reach ages similar to spellcasters.)
Spoiler ahead! (For stories I'll probably never post, but yeah...)
Bella's work in the fashion and beauty industry was just a cover-up for her real occupation: a Realm's Hunter and Secret Agent. After an incident that cost her partner's life, Bella opted out of field work for many years and trained agents and hunters instead. She eventually returned to field work as a team leader until she retired.
Random fact: if an agent wanted to return to active field work, they would ask Bella for a makeover - meaning reassignment and training.
But will Bella live long enough to reach an age only a spellcaster can reach? 😈
Why do I think the person who made the RoM townies made Morgyn Ember from scratch and then just hit random for all other townies, pushed and pulled some sliders, and called it a day? Holy Moly. @crazy-hazy-sims set me up for a challenge for sure. But, challenge accepted. So I reset every part of Gemma's face to the preset's default and tried to recreate her face in a more natural looking way. Some of you might remember infamous Merlyn Kendrick, who I made for a Bachelorette Challenge back in 2021. Merlyn was the first spellcaster I gave pointy ears, just because I felt like it. Since then pointed ears on occults have been canon in my Sims' lore. So you can imagine how happy I was when I changed Gemma's hair and discovered pointed ears on spellcasters are canon. If she didn't have pointy ears already, I would have given her pointy ears. I also gave her eyes a more intense shade of blue, unnatural eye colors are another common side effect of magic. I hope you like the makeover, it took me a while, but I'm satisfied with the result.
Bonus! Since I can't just make over one sim of an entire household that EA did so dirty I also made over Minerva, Darrel, and even Emilia (whose pointy ears I took away for now, she'll get them back when she reaches a higher rank).
Minerva Charm
The matriarch of the family, old like an oak, and as powerful as the Sage of Practical Magic. Maybe she was even up for the position but declined. Why? No one knows. To me, she's an artificer, an expert gemologist, and a terrific tarot reader with uncanny accuracy.
Darrel Charm
Young, ambitious, hot-headed, and deeply in love with his fiancée Emilia. I don't have many ideas about Darrel yet. But I think it's just a matter of time until he and his mother will have a huge fight about Minerva's attitude towards Emilia and ascended spellcasters in general.
Emilia Earnest
No matter what piques her interest Emilia strives for perfection once she's hooked. Be it her handwriting, her magical training, or Darrel's favorite cookie. Her relationship to Minerva so far isn't a good one, meaning the typical unwanted daughter-in-law one, but Darrel has Emilia's back.
