FAMILY: Big Daddy (father), Tiana Benoit (bff) MARITAL STATUS: Still waiting on a prince HISTORY: Charlotte's mother passed away when she was a small child, and it had always been just Lottie and Big Daddy for as long as she could remember. He doted on his only daughter and spoiled her silly, but she grew up sweet and generous, if a bit flighty. She had her best friend, Tiana, to ground her, Lottie always pulling them forward into some new, hairbrained scheme, and Tia the practical voice of wisdom over her shoulder. Tiana's mother was the best seamstress in New Orleans, and from the time she was a child, Lottie loved the princess gowns she made for her and her dolls. She begged her to teach her how, and before long, she was dressing her Barbies in lovingly hand-crafted wedding gowns and making Halloween costumes for her long-suffering bloodhound, Stella.

As a teenager, she devoured fashion magazines and poured money into her own wardrobe, in between debutante balls and serial dating. She was a born romantic, but the reality of the boys who caught her attention rarely lived up to her fairytale fantasies. She dreamed of living happily ever after with a handsome prince, but each one ended in heartbreak and tearful ice cream sessions with Tia or fuming, public diva tantrums (resulting in at least two restaurants in New Orleans she's no longer allowed into). She always bounced back quickly, and it was onto the next potential prince. While Tia worked and searched for the right school, Lottie went off to Big Daddy's alma mater, LSU, for a degree in fashion design. She thrived under college life--the sororities, the drama, the wider dating pool--and came home often, full of stories and laughter.

Despite this, it was a hard four years to be separated from Tia and Big Daddy both, and school didn't come easily to her. When Tiana started looking seriously at culinary schools, Lottie was looking for internships to further her fashion design career. Georgette's wasn't the most prestigious offer, but it was well respected, and it would give her some breathing room after the struggle of university. Her internship included apprenticing with a designer and logging hours in a clothing store in town to continue building her experience. She has half a mind to open her own store there someday. Fableton is obviously in need of her fashion expertise!

🌪 - A quiet moment

Neither Hercules nor Tiana were prone to laziness. She loved her work, and his demigod impulses kept him active most of the time, but there was the occasional night where they were both tired or homesick for the other at the same time. Curled up with Tia on the couch, at his place or her place, while a superhero film flickered on the television, were some of the softest, quietest moments of his life.

TIANA’S PLACE

This was Tiana Benoit’s dream and it shows.  She works hard to keep the place clean, to make it elegant with flashes of spice and light, a blend of Southern charm and sass.  She’s almost always around, cooking up something new and greeting customers.  Jazz music in the background sets a tone, candle lit tables set the mood, and they almost never close on time because people can’t stay away from this Town Square landmark.

Tiana is one of my favourite ladies around town. She's just so likeable and down to Earth. Have you got any favourite ladies in town?

Tiana is pretty great, but I don’t play favorites, nonnie. I love all of the messed up little misfits in town, especially the ladies. They’re just so good at stirring up drama for me to observe and enjoy.
