Not nearly enough groveling, but a true battle of wits and affectations!

Seriously though, why didn't Philip have to grovel harder after leaving Sorrel in the library? He is lucky she basically hates herself, cause he got off WAIT too fucking easy there.

I loved their enemies to lovers. Of course no epilogue kills it for me, but I hope this is a Lancaster Family situation where we will see them more in the next books.

This was simply 200 pages too long. But if your favorite part of a book is the epilogue then this is for you.

Genuinely, I don't think anything bad happened after the 50% mark. Everything after that was just about how much they love each other, and the milestones in their relationship.

And yet to actually advance towards the proposal and whatever- I HAD TO READ 100 PAGES OF THE SAME BOOK BUT FROM THEO'S POV. And it brought absolutely nothing. And the timeline was confusing, even when I was trying to give it a chance.

Like it would've made more sense to start the counting of days from the crash. Why are we counting backwards from a mystery point in time (assumingly the proposal?). I still don't freakin know.

THE END/EPILOGUE LASTED SO LONG I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER THE BEGINNING. I HAVE NO MORE FOND MEMORIES OF IT. I am actually so upset.

Sinister Magic (Death Before Dragons #1)

Witty, action-packed, and I must absolutely be seeing more of Zav in the future!

I won't fault the book for me not really being in the mood for it. But my dad read ToG, so it was only fair I read his recommendation. So a solid 4 it is.

I love all the witty banter and this thing we got going on with Zav. But when the action happens, I'm like blah blah skim skim.

However I think the plot was well organized, and a lot happened without it being too overwhelming. A very easily digestible urban fantasy.

For a university setting, it felt very high school. I’m pretty sure I rolled my eyes out of their sockets by the end.

I added a +.25 because the 3rd act break up wasn't really a thing like I had expected, AND the resolution to their relationship was decent. Fitz evolution was appreciated.

The hot and cold for the first 75% of the book though, meh. The book got me at a bad time I think because I just didn't like any trope here. Blonde bimbo anti stereotype, meh.

Romancing Daphne (The Lancaster Family #3)

I love a good wallflower! And the continued cameos, just make the next books that much better.

The ending just felt entirely dragged on, and then rushed right at the end. Like, I understand Daphne's hesitation and the importance of James to regain that trust. But it felt entirely dragged on, and then once it was resolved, the lead in to their proposal was beyond rushed! Blasted!

I loved the tie in to mythology again though. And I feel like Artemis' book will be fun with her dramatics. Hopefully that does not change as she comes of age. And hopefully that is all we see of the father!

I don't want anymore daddy issues after he has died. I've seen enough of him in Daphne's trauma. Quite sad.

I hope we get to see children soon though! The past couples will have children by next book but unfortunately that doesn't mean we will SEE them. Linus might just be busy at his own estate.

Also I am really loving these regency romances. They are just so romantic! No spice means they can focus on the simple gestures, and the feelings and gestures are very cute romantic rather than heady lust.

I feel like the hook was good enough, but got bogged down by all the other heavy conflicts.

Honestly, I just wish I liked it more. I REALLY liked the hook, but holy fuck there is just so much going on- with her endometriosis, her mother from hell, the blackmailer, etc etc.

Which is fine btw. Obviously it couldn't just be about them stalking each other (well it could've, but then the book should be shorter). But there was A LOT. I didn't even know what to focus on. And it was all so dark and heavy.

I need a palate cleanser basically. It wasn't a dark leaning towards erotica like I expected. It was a lot. I'm going back to my regency no spice romances lmao, and taking a breath.

A truly sweet (but oblivious) pairing that had my heart aflutter all book. And an absolute MUST-READ if you loved Persephone and Adam in book one!

I really enjoyed this one- I am surprised I am giving it a 5 but I really truly felt warm and fuzzy inside the whole read. So either it just caught me in the perfect mood or it is truly a 5, I liked how it made me feel.

And made better by the top tier cameo from book one's couple. They really spoke to my heart as well. Persephone and Adam's dynamic is really something special. I love seeing Adam's sweet side.

A Game of Cat and Witch (Monstrous Shifters #1)

Very unserious, but the sexual tension was thick. Shadow cat daddy, add it to the list!

You really just have to embrace the unseriousness of it all. Obviously the shifter witch politics is serious- but their dialogue and banter. The pop culture references. "Felix likey." Lets just be honest here.

Felix is a very cute cat though. Can't say I'm into the tail shenanigans during spice scenes though, but that's fine.

I'm surprised the shifter issue wasn't resolved, but I figured it wasn't going to be when we left the island at like 90%. I also can't believe book 2 is following Wren! We get a redemption arc I suppose?

Also the goddess is sassy! A thirsty bitch, if you will. Craving that tea and watching the romance bloom just like the rest of us.
