I would've marked it down for not being YA tbh because I thought the pranks seemed really immature for their age. Then the pranks ended up having meaning, which was kind of cute.
Just kind of hated how it had to be explicitly said by the best friend, and wasn't a bit more showing rather than telling.
Them having to be 21 just felt like a reason to force them to have beers, and make us feel better about reading about their first time. Spice was good though! Just didn't feel vital to me, when we could've spent that time building up the little things.
I somehow need to gamify games more... there is nothing that gets me going more than the % going up when I am reading a book.
Once I am at 50%, I consider knocking the rest out in one sitting. I need that for video games. Specifically all the singleplayer story games on my TBP.

And Rowan losing himself, trying to find her. Desperately. I'm so fucking heartbroken for them.
Obviously I didn't expect them to find her within days, but I guess the passage of time hasn't been laid out so explicitly in awhile. I often forget to imagine how long has passed between pages, let alone between book 5/6 and 7.
UUGHHH, I love a good grumpy x sunshine. And references to Greek mythology? MWAH💋
However, I kind of hate how their romance doesn't come to fruition until the very end. Can't I have like.. one more chapter? Like how about we resolve the romance FIRST, and then move on to fixing the sideplots like family and home, etc.
As someone who is only vaguely familiar with the story of Persephone, I appreciated the characters referencing it very explicitly. The confession was so cute. It was the perfect way to work around his shyness and unwillingness to talk of his feelings.
Ugh the ending carried so hard. I wanted to rate it higher, but Adam was almost too grumpy for me tbh. (That's what makes it so much better though, when they get together) And the pacing bothered me. Ending so worth though.
My first look into regency romance. I loved their banter but got bored of the conflict rather quickly.
Their miscommunication (or general lack of it) just got boring! A couple of times sure, but we were really pushing it by the end. I'm surprised the truth came out at all, to be honest!
Love/hated the ball where he was upset and jealous the whole time. Loved because it really showed a lot about his inner feelings. But hated because she was so uncomfortable, and got left to deal with her dreaded uncle.
I like the regency vibes too. Something about old traditions and the culture of then.. idk. I needed some simple and this is simple!

The whole goal of this was to make summary contact.. and I'm not sure if I should start yet. I have all the notes, but that is a lot of drawing.
A mutual on Fable wrote a review that convinced me to get into some regency romance series. I'm only on the first book, so we will see how I vibe with that.
Had to make room on Libby for holds, so I removed all my Abby Jimenez holds... so that is out. Might have to start Briar U soon, since that is most of my holds now. Aside from SJM books.
My problem is that I am unsure how I will feel after ToG. I want to make videos summarizing ToG, so I don't know if I want to jump straight into ACOTAR. Or maybe I am suppose to read Crescent City next?
More investigation is to be done. I do know that I am itching to get Kindle Unlimited again, because SO many series that I want to start are on there. I really want to start like.. Tommen Boys or Windy City. Some romance type shit.
Wow, ToG tandem read took a lot longer than I predicted! Probably because I took too many breaks. Nearly there, though?
ToG is just so emotional and intense. It's like I can feel the storm constantly brewing, so I just need some time to breath.
And I just need more time to read. I hated reading on my 15 and 30 minute breaks, when I wanted to just sit and commit multiple hours. Especially with the tandem read! So I kept borrowing buffer books until I hit the weekend.
While Empire of Storms focused on found family and chasing fates, this was a tale of healing and forgiveness. I cried. I'm still crying.
Again, tandem read all the way. But I almost feel like ToD should be read before EoS, if you choose not to.
While this book was a little more stagnant than EoS, it really grows on you. Beginning is a little rough as you learn all the Khagan political BS, with their gajillion children. But I feel like it cpuld hold up still without a tandem.
But I also know some people still hate Chaol after book 4- sooo, I feel like going from 5 to 6 would just be hard?
I can't believe they got married so soon! But everyones fates being so intertwined.. its just so beautiful. And it doesn't feel cliche at all tbh. How poetic that Aelin basically saved Chaol's future wife 😭
Oh but you fucking know Chaol is gonna clock fake Aelin SOOOOO fast. Glad they are reuniting though.
Also also also, the last chapter for ToD.. even with that, I genuinely feel like 6 should be read before 5? But only if you don't mind Assassin's Blade as 3rd. Since anybody with an iota of reading comprehension can deduce it is Aelin at the end. You'd know, going into EoS, that something happens to her. Similar to AB, where you know something happens to Sam. You feel me?
Omg omg and Sartaq?? The man?? Nesryn, you deserve this!! I am so happy that she got everything and more at the end. Her family made me cry. Wyrds, I am sooo happy for her.
And I cry for Duva, and the Khagan's family. The empress coming in made me cry. The poor youngest. That death really is so sad. Duva names her child after her, perhaps?
It's so long BUT SO WORTH IT 😭😭 The tandem too, I can't imagine reading it any other way.
Or if you truly don't want to tandem, then read 6 then 5. Because, I don't hate Chaol now that I'm almost done with 6- but I definitely did before starting 5! And I feel like nothing in 6 has anything crazy enough that needs to be held until 5 is finished.
This book was just perfect though. You need stamina. It's a slow journey, but a worthy one. Very worth it. And I'm not even at the end of it yet. But so far, this long winded tale is beautiful. Oh to be a young princess that loves her kingdom very very much.
I can't believe how much shit Aelin has up her sleeve, ALL THE TIME. And the timing off all her life debts to just show up, right as she is taken. Impeccable timing. I wish she could've seen them all arrive. And Rowan's army! UGH Rowan you sweetheart.
I can't believe they married and they HID IT FROM US. Secretive bastards, all of you!!
My heart goes out to Lysandra though. She obviously isn't happy about being Aelin, but promised to do it. And now Aedion feels betrayed. And Rowan has to put on a face like everything is okay.
Poor Manon too. I think her heart has really warmed, so it genuinely did hurt her to have to walk away neutrally, to guard the wyrdkeys. What will Maeve do once she finds no keys on Aelin, though? I worry for her.
I am so happy Lorcan and Gavriel are free of the blood oath. Sadly, they were harmed by it.. but yall will get over it. Especially once you find out who Maeve really is...
And I hope Dorian doesn't fuck anything up. I like him going off w Manon, but worry for the keys. I almost hope he sacrifices himself? But obviously not...I just... I just really like Aelin and Rowan T_T
And I think Rowan will kill himself to be with Aelin. Well.. maybe not. If he promised to care for Terrasen. WYRDS, I can't believe they didn't make it in time, even with the wyverns. Aelin tried to hold out so long with the whipping.
