“Em Friedman is the Dnd Shorts of Actual Play writing.” For those who don’t know, what does that mean? Not the ‘Em Friedman part, your post covered that. The DND Shorts part. (I’m genuinely just not in the know and am curious what you mean so I can be informed! 😅)
Dnd Shorts is a mediocre white guy who started playing D&D during the pandemic, which is valid, but then was like "I should make a YouTube channel that is indistinguishable from every other white guy who says shit about D&D on YouTube", which is not really valid but fine, but then during the whole OGL drama he kept claiming he had insider knowledge that was entirely unsourced and he did not fucking back down until people were like "you're literally making this worse because now Hasbro can truthfully just be like 'that dude is talking out his ass' and dodge more serious questions." He was the source for quite a lot of the misinformation that flew around at that time.
Anyway I'm using this more as a shorthand for "a relative newcomer in the TTPRG/Actual Play space who is either positioning themself or being treated as an authority on the subject despite being mediocre in their knowledge at best, who lacks cogent analysis, credentials, or arguments that don't fall apart when you look at them for more than a minute." Like, if they were just random people on Twitter they'd be whatever, but they both have platforms wildly disproportionate to the value of what they have to add to the conversation.

Meeting up with Aylin and Isobel goes somewhat smoothly. Anissue and Aylin are fishing for all the protein for camps dinner. (Yes, it's a lot of fish. 2 paladins, 2 barbarians, a monk and a cleric gotta eat)
They shared stories. Aylin of her adventures with Isobel, Karlach and Zatavia. Anissue talks a little bit about Avernus and her time stuck in the blood war, and some of the mighty demons she fell.
Back at camp, Isobel is cooking vegetable stew, and Naji is peeling potatoes for Isobel. Zatavia finds the lychee bowl and really just couldn't help herself.
They did not end up having lychee honeycakes that night.
Karlach is finding more herbs and berries for breakfast however.
Whoever will they meet next?

( Funny story, I was working on sketching out the tiefs meeting Dame Aylin and Isobel, but unfortunately for me, my notebook was ruined. I was sketching in the woods, and this bird that was possessed by the spirit of Ketheric Thorm shat on my notebook. I'm mad, so I did a quick sketch after my shift. Yay.)
