I wonder what kind of people the members of house S’sril were to choose to pour all its efforts making an academy that is (theoretically) open to every drow citizen of menzobarranzan. It’s strangely civic minded in a way. I also wonder if there’s any statues or something to remember House S’sril by.

Disciplinary action in Tier Breche

If you fuck around in Tier Breche, one of the punishments was forced self mutilation. (cutting your own pinky finger off)

This would be a punishment for something like attempting to sneak out before your education was finished.

This “in Theory” is interesting to me. Would a commoner from the lower streets be welcomed at the academy? Could they afford it? Is there a cost to this? Are their courses of study dictated by that cost? If there is a cost, are there sponsorships by certain houses to help pay for talented individuals? Do commoners face discrimination in the academy?

All these questions and more were ones I had that “Homeland” failed to answer for me and now I must sit and stew.
