Has anyone ever thought of Modern era Merlin with excalibur back tattoo? Because I think about it constantly.
Also, think about how crazzyy it would be if Merlin, who has given up on waiting for Arthur, thinking this as some sort of closure and trying to move on, came to this pretty famous tattoo shop in town who's owner is also one of the tatto artists and blond and kinda handsome but Merlin has given up scrutinizing every blond guy he met, and he's given up remember? So he's getting tattoed by this dude who's kind of a prat and can't stop arguing with him even through the pain, and on the third appointment halfway through his tatto process, he thinks, oh.
Oh no.
No, I'm not coming back. He reminded me too much about arthur, but He can't be Arthur because what the fuck 1500 years of war pandemic and famine and The once and future king is resurrected for, what, a tattoo parlor?
Meanwhile, Arthur (which is a common name nowadays, really) is having a crisis on why when this first time customer handed him a very beautiful and incorrect sword design (he made changes on the first few draft, Merlins reaction to it was insulted at first then he fell silent before acquiescing saying "it looked more right somewhow") of course it looked more right, the criss-cross pattern on the handle was not there at first, the pommel was not round, and the length of the sword it self was drawn disproportionately, which would not do in real life, because it would affect the reach and swing of the sword, which is an insult to excalibur itself especially because-
Because-
Because it was the best sword he ever had.
What the fuck.
(He also wonders how the tattoo would look like if Merlin was to be fucked from behind but shhhhh)
