One of the things I wanted to do last year was reread every single Sarah Dessen book from oldest to newest. I managed to read her first three novels before I stopped (I don’t think I wanted to reread Dreamland all too much). But I think I’m going to pick it up again cause I just purchased her latest book (that came out in 2018?) and I would like to have reread all the books before I devour that one. So my Eat, Pray, Love reading journey has ended with me completely abandoning the book. I just can't get through the India section. I just don't care. So, I took a detour from my Sarah Dessen reads to read Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I've honestly never read it before---and truly didn't have any interest to either---but I picked this up for $3 and thought "might as well." I wanted to see what the hype was all about. I'm currently halfway through it and still don't get the hype. Is it me, or is Gilbert just an okay writer? I've only ever read Big Magic and while she has some big ideas that are fantastic, the writing is just eh. It's okay. It's nothing spectacular. Again, this could just be me...but we'll see how I feel at the end of this read. Have any of you read Eat, Pray, Love (or any other Gilbert book)?
