The concept of Bychance meeting during their childhood except Will doesn't remember it.
One day, Will went to the park and fell down while his mom was looking away. Chance noticed him, though. He helped Will to get up and offered him a band-aid as well, but with tears and snot running down his face, all Will could see was a blurry figure vaguely reminding him of a baby tiger.
The next time he goes shopping with his mom and she insists he can pick whatever he wants, Will chooses a tiger plushie that reminds him of the mysterious boy who helped him. He keeps it close to his chest at night to fall asleep and squeezes it every time he's scared.
Years later in high school, Will watches the basketball game to support Lucas and inevitably notices Chance. He glances from the tiger logo on the sport uniform to Chance's face, and suddenly it clicks. Will is certain this is the boy from his childhood, the one he almost thought wasn't real. Who's now standing there in front of him and looks dangerously attractive.
(Bonus point if Chance does remember Will, the cute boy he helped as a kid that reminded him of a bunny, and yearned in silence for years before having the guts to ask Will out after his team won the game.)
