Princeton’s searchable electronic directory named “TigerNet” first became available to alumni on May 21, 1995. As you can see in the opening paragraphs of the welcome email, it was not a website, but rather a system of automated replies to emails with specific commands. Also notable: the email refers to “electronic mail and World Wide Web homepage addresses.”
