Yes! It's a small difference, and they're pretty similar otherwise. It's like persuasion vs charisma.

Persuasion is something you do. Tigertalon has to actively convince others to believe what he wants.

Charisma is something you have. Dreamstar doesn't have to convince you about anything- you just want to please him when he's around you.

so, in hf, there's this commonly accepted rule about pregnancy; you absolutely can NOT ask a queen who sired her kits. if she tells you, you should operate under the assumption that she wants you to keep it a secret. this rule DOESN'T apply to toms. there's this sorta grey area when it comes to trans and non-binary cats, but generally, if you identify as female you fall under this rule. it's also taboo to ask a same-sex couple who sired or damed their litter.

when a tom shows up with a litter of kits claiming that they're his but won't say who the mother is, there are a LOT of rumors. it's essentially publically admitting that you've made a HUGE error in judgement, possibly even done something against the code, and the identity of the mother is too shameful to share.

this is exactly what pinestar did, but he took it even farther. pinestar vanished for two whole days, during which a huge battle happened and several cats died. no one knew where he was or why he'd left, but this probably could have been forgiven... if he hadn't shown up with three kittens, claiming they were his and refusing to say who the mother was. two of them died within a few nights, and THEN he LEFT THE CLAN! WITHOUT his remaining kit!

this whole debacle left thunderclan with a lot of questions and even more anger. most cats started to coddle tigerkit; he has no one else, and he'd already suffered so much in his short life. a select few viewed tigerkit with intense distrust and distaste. these conflicting attitudes towards tigertalon really impacted his thinking. the coddling resulted in him thinking that the world is his by right; he deserves everything good and should get anything he wants. the constant comments about his father ended up with tigertalon feeling like he constantly has to prove himself to convince others that he isn't his father, that he's better and won't make those kinds of mistakes.
