So my sister recoiled and sighed when I said that I adore Tig and Venus on Sons of Anarchy. She said that Tig is a pervert and that Venus is a tranny and that's all it is. Aside from my immediate anger I calmed down significantly because I realized. I don't care what anybody thinks. Tig and Venus are fucking beautiful. Blaming Tigs creepy behaviours in the past and 'pervasiveness' on his fixation on a transgendered man is simple, dismissive and sad. It devalues how beautiful and sweet Venus is and what they share. Venus is not a thing or a that. Venus is not an object. Saying that Tig is fucked up so that is the only reason why he is perversely fixated on a deviant is discriminatory to Venus' character. She is a person, and believing that suggests transsexuals are not worthy of awe or 'real' love. The way Tig looks at her, talks to her and touches her speaks volumes. Speaks in every language of love and care. There is no pure sexual desire, there is infatuation and intrigue. Protectiveness, not possession. Venus does not exist to Tig to simply satisfy a kink or fantasy. And I can see that from the two episodes they shared together. I want this to continue. I want it to make viewers uncomfortable. I want it to progress. I want Venus to be Tigs old lady. I want it to be shoved in everyone's face; that this is not perversion. It's real. That doesn't mean they need more screen time. But it means that what they share on the side should be valued as real love that exists in this fictional universe. So that maybe viewers can accept transsexuals into their own family like how Gemma took Venus in. Or at the very least, we as a fandom can proudly say that Venus and Tig are canon. And everyone else who has a complaint can suck it.

First order of business: I petition that we call Tig/Venus Tignus. That shall be their 'ship name. I will use it from here on. He is so good with her. I just hope the writers know what they're doing. If not there is always fic.

Secondly: Ratboy. Come into my bosom, young Ratboy. Let me love your confused, adorable little face. He is such a sweetheart. I'm kind of afraid of what SAMCRO is going to do to him. part of me wants to protect him from them.

Thirdly: Tara. Oh, Tara. What can be said? She's a complete hot mess. Did she fake the pregnancy from the start, just to bring this result about? Because I would really hate to think she purposefully put a fetus at risk with that stomach to the desk maneuver. I just can't wrap my head around where the lies start and stop with her. She has truly become the student that surpasses the teacher. Is anyone actually thinking of Abel and Thomas' best interests in this case.

My best case scenario: Tig and Venus take Abel and Thomas (and Juice, and Ratboy) to Seattle. They all live happily ever after with Joey. Pretty much everyone else (with a few exceptions) can DIAF for all I care.
