Last November 2015, with a quick and spontaneous setup, Iwet Ramadhan from TIK PRIVE and Jaclyn from SENAYAN CITY decided to take me and Nicholas Saputra to Lasem, mid Java, to capture the story of Batik. Lasem is believed as one of the area where Chinese people come to Indonesia for the first time and this is how they brought the influence of Batik to Indonesia. It’s a beautiful village for me, especially it was my very first time I watch how people produce Batik Tulis in a very humble place. Another thing, working with Nicholas Saputra is always easy and professional at the same time! I hope you guys enjoy the video, this is also used as the opening of TIK PRIVE x STELLA RISSA ‘Burst of Happiness’ fashion show at Jakarta Fashion Week 2016.
