@zoesodja tagged me to do a 7-day book challenge, each day this week I will be posting about one of my favorite books! 💖💖💖📖💖👩🏼‍🏫💖💖💖 Today’s book is ‘Til the Well Runs Dry by Lauren Francis-Sharma. This book is about Maria Garcia, a woman who lives on the island of Trinidad in the 1940s-60s, and she is one of my favorite literary characters of all time. This book also taught me so much about the history of Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean, the Transatlantic slave trade, and about how African slaves were replaced with 140,000+ indentured servants from India so that space owners could continue their trade.
