A thing I will keep saying:
Multigenerational households are really common right now because we are at a time of very high financial inequality and environmental stress.
Living with your parents is not, in any way, “failing”.
People living with family members because someone needs care has *always* been a thing. I’m 40 and I get care from my parents. They come up and make sure I eat during the day and walk my dog with me or for me, depending on how well I am on that day, and help me out with cleaning, a couple of days a week. If I didn’t live with my OH, I’d probably be living with them because a) I need enough care that it’s difficult to live by myself b) my entire income is from the Scottish Adult Disability Payment, plus a little from my Patreon and freelance work, which is not enough to afford housing on.
People contribute as they can. People do childcare and clean and cook and provide income from working or any other sources they can. Childcare is *incredibly* expensive rn. Housing is *incredibly* expensive rn. Formal care is broadly non-existent for far too many people unless they can pay for it, and even then it far too often doesn’t meet actual needs.
Please stop insulting people by saying they live with their parents. It’s literally just shitting on poor and disabled people for no reason.
Me, my daughter, and her girlfriend were all showing off our crystal and herbs collections last night and Lucifer popped in and was like "Ah, witches have been doing this since the beginning of time." While I was nose deep into a jar of yarrow lol. And I was like aww, I'm so glad to be one of many carrying on the tradition of: show pretty rocks to friends, let them sniff your new herbs 😅 I don't use a lot of tools for magic but my daughter does and I just love witches in rooms hyping each other up. It was really nice to have this wholesome family moment also be a nod to all the magic users who came before. Ugh, this life is a good one.
