Burchett Drops the Hammer: Defund the UN After Maxwell's Sickening Platform
Rep. Tim Burchett isn't mincing words: it's time to defund the United Nations.
The Tennessee Republican fired off a blunt call after a resurfaced video showed convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell strutting around UN events in 2013 and 2014, posing as an "expert" on ocean conservation through her shady TerraMar outfit.
This wasn't some minor slip-up. The UN rolled out the red carpet for Epstein's partner in crime while American taxpayers shelled out billions every year to keep the lights on at Turtle Bay.
Burchett's response cuts straight to the point: Defund the UN.
He's right. Why are we funding an organization so incompetent—or worse, so corrupt—that it gave a platform to one of the most notorious figures tied to elite pedophile rings? Maxwell wasn't there by accident; she was invited, celebrated, and allowed to play civil society spokesperson.
The UN's vetting process failed spectacularly, exposing deep rot. Add in endless scandals, anti-American bias, wasteful spending, and peacekeeping forces with their own abuse records, and the case is clear: no more blank checks.
American money should protect American interests, not prop up a globalist swamp that cozies up to monsters. Burchett's call echoes what millions of fed-up patriots already know—it's past time to starve the beast and put America First.
Tim Burchett told MAGA voters concerned about Iran turning into another "forever war" to "vigilant" about holding leaders' feet to the fire,
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) told “MAGA voters” concerned about Iran turning into another “forever war” to “stay concerned” and “vigilant” about holding leaders’ feet to the fire, including President Donald Trump.
While speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Burchett was asked if he had a message for “MAGA voters” who are concerned that U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran could build into “another forever war.” The strikes, which Trump says are part of a larger operation that could stretch weeks or longer, has already taken out a number of high-ranking Iranian officials, including the country’s supreme leader.
The actions have led to backlash among some Republicans, who argue his latest foreign policy actions reflect the opposite of what he sold on the campaign trail when he railed against regime change and drawn-out wars in the Middle East.
“I would say stay concerned,” Burchett told upset MAGA voters. “I mean, be concerned. Be vigilant. Hold our feet to the fire. Keep us honest on that issue.”
Conservatives who have depicted Donald Trump as a strong “daddy” finally whipping the nation into shape have spent the past few days express
Oliver Willis at Daily Kos:
Conservatives who have depicted Donald Trump as a strong “daddy” finally whipping the nation into shape have spent the past few days expressing over-the-top fears about cities. Despite their so-called tough guy image, leaders on the right have offered fearful remedies while pushing lies about urban crime.
During the 2024 campaign Republicans characterized Trump as a “daddy” who was coming to straighten out misbehaving Americans supposedly coddled by maternal politicians like former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
In recent weeks the right has doubled down on this cringeworthy imagery, adopting the song lyrics “daddy’s home” to herald Trump’s purported leadership on the world stage.
But now “daddy” is hearing a lot of crying from some tearful boys and girls.
The new scaredy-cat campaign is meant to provide cover for Trump’s decision to send federal law enforcement and the National Guard to a supposedly crime-ridden Washington, D.C. Republicans have ignored and denied data showing a drop in crime and instead decided to fearmonger.
Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin, a staunch Trump ally, was perhaps most representative of this campaign, ironically exhibiting what the right has previously characterized as a “beta” mindset.
“I drive around in Washington, D.C. in my Jeep and, yes, I do drive myself. And I don’t buckle up. And the reason why I don’t buckle up, and people can say whatever they want to, they can raise their eyebrows at me, again, is because of carjacking,” Mullin told Fox News on Wednesday.
“I don’t wanna be stuck in my vehicle when I need to exit in a hurry because I got a seat belt around me. And I wear my seat belt all the time, but in Washington, D.C., I do not because it is so prevalent of carjacking. And I don’t want the same thing happen to me what’s happened to a lot of people that work on the Hill.”
Not wearing a seatbelt in D.C. is against the law and subject to fines. In fact, one of the violations that federal agents have spent their valuable time pursuing while policing the nation’s capital is the failure to wear a seatbelt.

Trump’s allies in right-wing media are also in the throes of crying for “daddy” to fix the problem, with figures like Charlie Kirk, Megyn Kelly, and Ainsley Earhardt cheering the over-the-top incursion into the nation’s capital.
But the data shows that these crybabies aren’t operating in reality. Crime is at a 30-year low in Washington and the show of force has squandered federal resources on mundane violations best left to local police.
What is it with conservative cis white men and their “protect me, daddy” worldview that is causing them to be scared of big cities?
Tennessee House Republican Tim Burchett is seen on camera groping one of his colleagues while on the House Floor during the voting of the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ Act.
It was also his wife’s birthday. Absolutely sickening.
