Pro Football Focus har udgivet deres karakterer over hvordan samtlige spillere klarede sig i deres respektive kampe. Dette indlæg har til formål at kåre ugens New Orleans Saints MVP.

Alle spillere nævnt i nedenstående afstemning har scoret en ‘grøn’ karakter hos sitet. ‘Grøn’ bedre end gennemsnittet.

Selvom det ikke lige var til at få øje på var der enkelte der blev gradet over middel hos Saints.

Jimmy Graham Ruling Shakes up Saints Offense

It’s been nearly a month since Jimmy Graham was ruled a tight end for franchise tag purposes, but the effects are being felt in unexpected ways.

Attendees of Saturday’s Black and Gold Scrimmage in West Virginia were perplexed at the sight of the Saints offensive line taking their spots a full five yards behind the ball, three or four yards behind backup QB Ryan Griffin.

“It’s obvious, really,” said second-year player Tim Lelito.  “They said Jimmy doesn’t get wide receiver money because he lined  up within four yards of the line of scrimmage most of the time.

“I mean, come on: I was an undrafted free agent.  This might be my only shot at a top salary.”

Veteran Jonathan Goodwin agreed.  “I’ve fought in the trenches a long time.  This is my chance to be tagged as a receiver.  Twelve million dollars – I’ll line up ten yards back to get that!”

While that may be a sound economic strategy, fans watching the scrimmage were vocal in their dislike, booing the referees for an unprecedented twenty-three flags in the first half:  ten for delay of game (since no one would hike the ball) and the rest for false starts (when Ryan Griffin went to pick up the ball).

At his press conference afterwards, the normally fiery Sean Payton was surprisingly calm about it.

“Look, I get where they’re coming from.  We’ll just take the penalties, then line up at 3rd and 20, Drew will throw to Jimmy, and Jimmy will take it in for a touchdown.”

Neither Brees nor Graham were available to comment on the game, as they were having a football dunking contest at the south goalpost.
