Part of me wants to look at cute animal pictures until I can fall asleep again but there's a larger part of me that's having a huge existential crisis.
I found the old Tim Roche versus Florida articles explaining that he was almost jailed for releasing information from a court document explaining the conclusion of a child abuse case that made it to family court. Reporting on family court is illegal in Florida to protect the children involved in it. Roche wasn't jailed for releasing the information, but for not releasing his sources. Every article that I read about this says that it's a landmark trial for reporters' rights, but I'm not really being given a why. And if it is landmark for reporters' rights, then I was wrong in my theory about Roche reporting the end of the trial for its 'blood and guts in living color' glamour.
A Time for Tim will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, from 7-11pm. If you’ve purchased a ticket, you can head over to the Wollaston Golf Club in Milton, MA, and participate in dancing, a live DJ, and a silent auction to help Team Roche. You can see who’s attending the event through their Facebook page, and donate through SharingCounts (or at the event).
These visors are for sale: “Please donate $25 for each visor you would like (multiples of 25 for more than 1). In the message box indicate your color preference of either green, black or pink.(as well as any comments or message you would like to share). Lastly, let us know if you will pick up your order at “Tim’s Time” on November 2nd or need it mailed).”
