First coat of OSMO polyx applied to the reclaimed timber shelves tonight. The grain has really come to life. After sanding these the smell and softness is leading me to doubt that it's actually Celery Top but more likely to be very old Baltic pine? Any wood experts out there care to chime in? It's definitely not at brittle as Celery Top. Maybe the decades of lead paint have had an effect?
