LOOK AT THEM LOOK AT MY GHOSTS
A Walk With The Lord I sat, with two friends, in the picture window of a quaint restaurant just off the corner of the town square. The food and the company were both especially good that day. As we talked, my attention was drawn outside, across the street. There, walking into town, was a man who appeared to be carrying all his worldly goods on his back. He was carrying, a well-worn sign that read, “I will work for food.” My heart sank. I brought him to the attention of my friends and noticed that others around us had stopped eating to focus on him. Heads moved in a mixture of sadness and disbelief. We continued with our meal, but his image lingered in my mind. We finished our meal and went our separate ways. I had errands to do and quickly set out to accomplish them. I glanced toward the town square, looking somewhat halfheartedly for the strange visitor. I was fearful, knowing that seeing him again would call some response. I drove through town and saw nothing of him. I made some purchases at a store and got back in my car. Deep within me, the Spirit of God kept speaking to me: “Don’t go back to the office until you’ve at least driven once more around the square.” Then with some hesitancy, I headed back into town. As I turned the square’s third corner. I saw him. He was standing on the steps of the storefront church, going through his sack. I stopped and looked; feeling both compelled to speak to him, yet wanting to drive on. The empty parking space on the corner seemed to be a sign from God: an invitation to park. I pulled in, got out and approached the town’s newest visitor. “Looking for the pastor?” I asked. Visit www.kingsolomonsmine.com.ng to continue reading. I AM PASTOR TIM BURT, THIS IS MY SALVATION STORY “At the age of 23 years old, I became a flight attendant for a major airline. It was a job I absolutely loved for 13 years. I loved serving people, constantly meeting new people, and having the opportunity to travel all over the world. But as much as I loved this season of life, it was a difficult time for me spiritually. I had drifted away from the Lord around the age of 18, questioning my faith because I had too many questions I could not answer” —Tim Burt My name is Tim Burt. I’ve been married for 39 years to my wife, Renee, and we have four married children and seven beautiful grandchildren. We’ve pastored together in a church for the past 35 years; however, we recently resigned in May to have more time to pursue sharing the Lord in a variety of ways through our ministry, Tim and Renee Burt Ministries. We both felt God leading us to take a brave step into this next season of life, and we’re very excited to reach as many people around the world as possible. I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I was one of 10 children, and I grew up in the most wonderful family imaginable. My parents loved God and to the best of their ability, raised us to know, love, and live for God. They were absolutely committed, selfless, and tireless in loving us and helping us achieve our best in life. They were also great disciplinarians, teaching us how to love and respect each other, along with instilling a strong work ethic in us. They also loved people, including our friends, and so our mom let us have our friends over all the time. Dinner time was like sitting down to a banquet, and we had more than just our own family of 12 at most meals. Consequently, I grew up in a family of extroverts who all love people! I praise God for the wonderful family I grew up in. WHAT REALLY DETERMINES YOUR INTELLIGENCE? There are some really intelligent people in this world. Some of those intelligent people are smarter than smart—brilliant might be a more appropriate word. But for some of them, their intelligence has become a curse. Why do I say that? Those who are smarter than smart are those who through their intelligence see God’s imprint on everything that exists. For those whose intelligence has led them to the belief that God does not exist, their intelligence has blinded them, become a curse, and actually made them foolish. They’ve made themselves the god of their life. All the majestic glories of existence were created by God. Science was meant to help man not only see God’s imprint but to reveal the glory of His creation. God also created the hunger within man to scientifically discover the mysteries of creation so that he would face the reality of his extreme limitations when compared to the brilliance of all that God created. That is exactly what God is saying to Job in Job 38:4-14 (NLT) “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? “Who kept the sea inside its boundaries as it burst from the womb, and as I clothed it with clouds and wrapped it in thick darkness? For I locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores. I said, ‘This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’ “Have you ever commanded the morning to appear and caused the dawn to rise in the east? Have you made daylight spread to the ends of the earth, to bring an end to the night’s wickedness? As the light approaches, the earth takes shape like clay pressed beneath a seal; it is robed in brilliant colours."
