"How cute," she said to the empty room.

Tim found a neatly wrapped present outside his room the next day.

The tag said "To Robin, with love. Spoiler." in loopy cursive.

The box itself held a head with flowers braided through the hair.

"I love it."

Dick found a file on the two grossly-in-love teenagers that was as big as his head.

Okay, so maybe not quite so thick. Still. Pretty thick. And there were three files, all equally thick.

Jesus, how had these two managed to commit so many crimes? When he was their age – no. No. He was not going to start thinking like that. Next thing he knew, he would be shaking a cane and shouting for the damn kids to stay off his lawn.

He then made the mistake of flipping through the files.

…There was a certain amount of blood and gore he was used to. Which sounded a lot more morbid than it should, but still. He had spent so long on the force that some things didn't faze him anymore.

But this? Looking at these files? Just skimming through it?

He had to find a bucket to vomit into.

Tim leaned up and planted a bloody kiss on his girlfriend's cheek.

"We should go get something to eat, later."

"Mmm." Steph said, carefully cutting open their victim. "Italian or Chinese?"

"I was thinking something from that diner you like."

"Waffles?"

"Yeah. With whipped cream and maybe some strawberries mmf–" he was cut off by her hand covering his mouth.

"Boyfriend, you're distracting me. There are organs to be removed, now pass me that knife."

"Of course, girlfriend." The knife in question passed from his hands to Steph's with a flourish. "I love watching you work, you know that?"

"Teenagers in love should be going to the movies and stealing each other's popcorn, not committing mass murder. The victims are all missing hearts. They are giving people's hearts to each other."

"Dick, calm down."

"I'm very calm! Perfectly calm and rational. They are cutting out people's hearts and giving them to each other. And you know what's tomorrow, right? Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, Bruce."

"Your point?"

"Their kill rate is going to go through the roof, that's what my point is. There's gonna be so many people missing hearts, it won't even be funny. I mean, it was never funny. But it will be even less funny. You know what I mean?"

Bruce just grunted.

"Well, of course you do. You know everything. Except why I'm nervous about tomorrow, apparently. We're going to have so much paperwork."

Steph woke up to a present on her bedside table. She unwrapped the paper to find two hearts, stitched together with S + T embroidered on them.

"Aww…" she cooed.

Tim found a note on his bedside table in Steph's loopy cursive.

There's a surprise waiting for you on the top of the WE building.

When Tim found his way to the roof, he discovered a massive amount of human organs – hearts, brains, and assorted other organs – arranged in giant letters that said "Love you."

Steph stood in between the E and the Y, holding flowers that were tied in what looked like entrails

"Hey boyfriend. Happy Valentine's Day."

"You're the best, girlfriend."

"I wish those two would find a hobby that doesn't involve murder. It's great that they're in love and all, but why do they have to show it through cutting people's hearts? Can't they do something like normal teenagers that doesn't involve the police? Other than in underage drinking stuff. In a way that doesn't involve homicide."

Bruce grunted.

Here's the thing: I can really only see Cassie with Kon (comics) or with Jaime (animated).

I'm less picky over my Tim ships. Like, I ship Tim with everyone. Nearly everyone. This list includes Steph, Dick, Kon, Jason, and Damian. No Bruce or Ra's because that's creepy levels of age difference :\ but yeah.

Anyway, back to the main point: they have canon but we all know canon means nothing except when we want it to. Selective canon-ing, i call it.

The way I see it, Tim and Cassie were both in mourning over Kon and Bart's death (and Tim was dealing with Steph and his dad's as well) that they both turned to each other for comfort with basically ended up in them trying to be the girl/boyfriend the other needed. Which didn't end up working too well, because Cassie isn't Steph and Tim isn't Kon but they both kinda just went oh well and pretended.

Basically they were each other's rebounds? i guess?

As for Tim/Kara, it sound like it could be either really adorable or really not and I'm scared to find out because I do not need another ship right now
